Reporting to the COO, the Director of Diagnostic Imaging will direct, manage and coordinate the technical, physical, and administrative activities of the Radiology Department in accordance with hospital policies, ACR, HRS, FDA, and TJC.
Educate staff in the responsibility and accountability in the performance of imaging assessment and reassessment and implementation of the patient's orders in accordance with the department policies.
Educate and instruct staff to recognize and report signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect to physicians, department director, and/or appropriate agency.
Delegate tasks to personnel based on skill level, patient care needs, patient satisfaction and ability to provide required supervision.
Ensure diagnostic imaging procedures are consistent with Hospital and department policies, patient age, weight, and development needs.
Function as a preceptor teaching formal classes within the department or facility. Maintains attendance records.
Delegate schedules, workload and responsibilities to meet the needs of the patient and/or physician.
Support and maintain compliance to billing issues, revenue and chargemaster system.
Ensure the performance of equipment preventative maintenance according to JCAHO and HRS guidelines. Documents and reports Quality Controls.
Evaluate employee competency, provides marginal employees with the opportunity for improvement, establishes objectives and acceptable performance standards for the Imaging Department
Must have 2 year Associate's Degree
Bachelor's and Post Graduate Degree strongly preferred
Must have FL CRT license
Must be certified with ARRT
Must have current BLS through the American Heart
Must have at least 5 years of experience in an acute care setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
Critical thinking skills
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 lbs.
