Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) and Rutgers School of Public Health (RSPH) are seeking applications for a full-time, tenure track, faculty administrator position at the associate or full professor level, to oversee the Dental Public Health (DPH) Residency Program. The Program will provide an array of exposures to the philosophy and practice of dental public health.

This is a full time, 12month, tenure-track leadership position at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. The primary responsibility is coordination of the Dental Public Health Residency Program. The position is to be 50% grant funded.

Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director is part of the faculty leadership team and is responsible for implementing the DPH Program at RSDM and RSPH.

Administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop the DPH residency program including curriculum, course development;

  • Administer the DPH residency program partnership with RSPH and in collaboration with other public health programs, stakeholders, and health departments, local, regional, national, and international associations;

  • Guide strategic planning for the DPH program that is aligned with the missions of the program, department, college, and university;

  • Lead team in developing standard for the program accreditation process, meeting CODA standards (Standard 1), and develop own standard.

  • Nurture a sense of community among and between students, faculty, and staff in the program;

  • Identify and prioritize public and private funding opportunities for the Program;

Faculty responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Participate in the instruction of selected MPH/DPH core and concentration courses and/or electives based on the expertise of the applicant;
  • Advise DPH residents;
  • Provide professional service to the field;
  • Contribute to department, RSDM, and university shared governance through committee membership;
  • Continue to publish and seek grant funding;
  • Develop and maintain a line of scholarly research.
