Director, Data Sources
The Data Sources team in the Data Strategy & Management organization (Chief Data Office) is responsible for the acquisition, ingestion and evaluation of all types of data and data capabilities that can be utilized for innovation by a wide range of Mastercard product teams.
The Director, Data Sources will have global responsibility to implement the onboarding of data acquired from partners and vendors to test in product development efforts and to incorporate into existing data products. The Director also will design data testing criteria and methodologies.
Director, Data Evaluation and Ingestion
Design testing methodologies for evaluating the quality and value of potential new data suppliers. Work with applicable analytical and O&T teams to implement and run tests. Evaluate test results and communicate to stakeholders. Maintain database of evaluations and evaluation design.
Work with vendors and technology teams to onboard new data suppliers. Determine data update schedules and corresponding communications for updates received.
Design and implement required extract, transfer and load (ETL) process for newly acquired data. Determine required data formats, data analytical environments, required data controls and data protection measures (such as encryption and hashing).
Develop and implement data federation requirements to integrate new data sources into existing data sources. Investigate and implement new data federation technologies as appropriate.
Work with technology and data users to automate the onboarding of variable data sources, such as open data sources, to compensate for potential data format and content variability.
Create sample data sets for testing and evaluation by Mastercard and its vendors.
All About You
Advanced experience working with data products, either in development or evaluation
Advanced knowledge of extracting data sets for evaluation and ability to code queries to do same
Knowledge of data matching and data parsing
Bachelor's degree in science, mathematical, engineering, or technology
Strong analytical skills
Experience in vendor management, RFPs, and contract negotiations
Strong communication skills
