Director of Data Quality & Governance
The Director of Data Quality and Governance is responsible for the quality of Customer data across the Legal & Publishing business unit of LexisNexis, ensuring sound governance based on the Data Maturity Model (DMM). The Director of Data Quality and Governance will report into the Global Operations team and will be responsible for managing and administering data governance leveraging the data quality framework, directing an offshore team of data stewards and collaborating with the locally assigned data owners and data stewards throughout the organization. They will also act as the product owner for the Enterprise Customer & Prospect Master and Product Master assets.
1.Responsible for leading data strategy initiatives.
2.Works with a geographically disperse, cross-functional team responsible for business process, data definitions, data quality and data integration/migration work.
3.Develops and implements processes, policies, guidelines and responsibilities for managing data in compliance with business requirements and/or regulatory obligations. 4. Organizes and streamlines the processes through which data is collected, shared, utilized, protected, cleaned, and stored while maintaining efficiency and saving the company from inaccurate data handling and unusable data.
5.Evaluates all master data requirements from business owners and drives resolution to cross-organizational data-related issues.
6.Leads and assigns duties to a team of data stewards with focus on data governance and quality.
7.Ensures that there are documented procedures and guidelines for data access and use.
8.Ensures data standards and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met so that data is usable in applications.
9.Prioritizes work (including service tickets) regarding data quality and governance related to customer data and leveraging the Global Technology Organization (GTO) ticket-management resource.
10. Determines data quality tenets, developing metrics and communicating degree of measurement for data quality to executives.
11. Consults with technology on specific tool and process improvements, acting as the agile product owner for the data assets.
1.Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience with data quality or management.
2.Must be action oriented, capable of independently analyzing and solving complex problems involving data quality issues caused by system or business rule conflicts.
3.Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot issues.
4.Able to develop, articulate and communicate master data strategies and solutions.
5.Demonstrated expertise in developing requirements and roadmaps to understand and support business stakeholder success.
6.Process-focused with a detailed knowledge of process flow documentation.
7.Strong technical knowledge and understanding of master and reference data elements, processes and organizational support models.
8.Ability to lead and/or participate on cross-functional projects, including creating and driving project plans to completion.
9.Ability to work cooperatively at all levels in a matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals.
10. General industry awareness around data maturity models.
11. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity.
