As the Director Data Governance and Data Quality, you will be an integral part of the Data Organization that will plan, design, and implement the data governance framework. This role will be responsible for establishing, enhancing, and managing best practices, processes and tools related to Data Governance around our key infrastructure of Workday and accompanying tools and systems including but not limited to CRM (Microsoft Dynamics), Access Tax, Caseware, Microsoft Office Tools and others. This is a highly visible role and requires cross functional leadership with stakeholders and partners across the organization. This role is equal parts strategy and technical execution and requires experience creating frameworks, designs, and initiatives, and proving them out.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business sponsors to develop our data governance vision, strategy & roadmap and determine priorities

  • Own and drive the data quality management roadmap by helping plan and prioritize multiple data cleansing and data integration projects impacting multiple business units

  • Build data governance playbooks education materials (playbooks)

  • Lead data governance execution activities including data attribute cleansing and stewarding.

  • Manage a direct and indirect team of Data Governance Analyst(s) and Data Stewards, who play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, security, and integrity of our data

  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of our data

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, document and prioritize data requirements and processes and additional requirements to support strategic reporting and KPIs.

  • Monitor and maintain data quality by conducting audits, identifying data issues, and implementing corrective actions

  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage, and data flow diagrams to promote transparency and understanding of data assets

  • Manage and lead Change Advisory Board meetings to be aware / bring awareness of data related changes that may be coming down the line from core enterprise systems like Workday and ServiceNow and align data cleansing activities with CAB priorities and initiatives.

  • Partner with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company standard

  • Conduct regular data governance training and education sessions to promote a culture of data excellence within the organization

  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential data risks and issues

  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in data governance and make recommendations for continuous improvement

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance and provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders including Business units, Operations and Growth Office.

  • Collaborate with data governance committees to develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures

  • Lead data governance meetings and provide updates on data governance initiatives and progress

  • Develop and maintain relationships with data owners and stewards to ensure data governance processes are followed

  • Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and make recommendations and plans for improvement

  • Document and communicate data governance processes and procedures to ensure consistency and understanding across the organization

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance tools and technologies

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading data management / governance teams

  • Minimum 10 years of data management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, or related fields

  • Knowledge of data governance methodologies, principles, tools, and best practices

  • Work in Agile development methodologies

  • Functional and technical experience in a large-scale data environment, e.g., developing business requirements, mapping out process flows, ETL, automation, auditing, testing,

  • Demonstrated history of successful tasks and/or project leadership and delivery

  • TRAVEL REQUIRED: Minimal to Moderate

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. Compensation Range for this position: $185,000 - $220,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
