The National Director is a senior level healthcare data scientist who provides leadership of the data reporting and analytics team across multiple locations, enabling the transformation of healthcare data into actionable information to inform the clinical and business decisions of clients. The Director will oversee reporting solutions, technology and vendor relationships to optimize outcomes and increase value for clients. S/he will function as a subject matter expert on organizational data stores, data access, healthcare data science, claims analytics, statistical analyses, reporting processes and data visualization.
Bachelor's required in a related field, Master's Degree preferred in a related field
5+ years Leadership and Managerial Experience required in related field
Data Management Analytics, Data Platform or BI certifications
Project Management, Lean Six Sigma or other business certifications a plus
Expert knowledge of data structures, theories, principles, practices and data modeling.
At least 8 years of experience in an analytics and report writing role
At least 5 years of experience with Structured Query Language of some form is required. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL, DAX, and/or PowerBI is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience with report development software that produces tabular, chart, and/or graphic reports is required. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and/or Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
2+ years experience and proficiency with statistical programs such as, but not limited to, SPSSS, SAS, and Minitab is preferred.
Experience with and proficiency with analytics software such as, but not limited to, PowerBI, Qlik, Cognos, or Focus is preferred.
Experience in developing reports to increase business and clinical intelligence using health care claims and clinical data highly preferred
Experience working with structured unstructured data, including data manipulation /or mining is required.
Understand best practices in presenting and visualizing data in graphical and tabular formats.
Health plan and/or actuarial experience preferred

Provides expert consultation on the best fit technology and representation of data to meet the stakeholder objectives
Collaborates with content experts to ensure clear documentation of clinical and business data reporting and analytics requirements, including user acceptance testing to ensure that deliverables meet expectations
Develops and optimizes methodology to gather business requirements regarding integrating data from disparate sources including but not limited to EHRs, payers/insurers, hospitals, registries and data aggregators.
Leads the team to develop reports, dashboards, and analytics packages using the full range of functionality available through business intelligence suite of tools
Builds data models and analyzes their content to discover trends, test hypotheses, and improve outcomes
Analyzes data and reports to identify ways to increase healthcare quality, reduce costs, and improve profitability

Leads and mentors the analytics and report writing team whose responsibilities are to:
Use database queries, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and other analytics techniques to discover, explore, document and present issues and trends from the organization's data store.
Develop and maintain ad-hoc and scheduled operational reports that assist management in effecting organizational change and incent better organizational outcomes.
Lead/participate in analytical investigations aimed at addressing specific business and/or clinical situations using data with an emphasis on identifying and interpreting trends.
Develop and make presentations that highlight the exploratory discoveries using a combination of visual and verbal techniques.
Resolve key data issues involving the quality and consistency of data for analytical purposes.
Develop and maintain procedures that pre-process and pre-summarize data to organize data for faster, easier, and repeatable use within reports.
Collaborate with the database and data loading development team on an as-needed basis to influence the structure of data storage and retrieval mechanisms to better support the reporting needs.
