POSITION OBJECTIVE: Athenex is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel therapies for the treatment of cancer. Our lead product, Oraxol, is in phase 3 registrational study.

As we begin to build our U.S. commercial team, we are seeking a Director, Customer Marketing reporting to the Senior VP, Global Commercial Oncology. This role will develop and lead the execution of our customer strategy focusing on HCP's and Patients for the launch of Oraxol. This role will also partner closely with the market access team in developing payer strategy as well.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead HCP marketing efforts in US, including execution with field-based teams

  • Develop congress strategies and plans for commercial section

  • Develop and lead patient/consumer marketing efforts in US including DTC efforts

  • Develop and own US tactical launch plan

  • Partner with Brand Marketing to conduct market research with emphasis on gaining deep insights into our customer journeys with a focus on patient

  • Oversee and manage appropriate vendor/agency relationship and manage budget

  • Develop and execute CRM, Digital, and Social Media programs for lead molecule

  • Lead the end to end development of online creative by partnering and educating the brand teams on the needs of the patient, how to improve the customer experience, and the implications for the creative brief, direction to agency, and creative assessment

  • Adopt new and existing processes and capabilities to create value based on customer insights (consumer, HCP, payer and others) that will positively differentiate the brand and company from competition

  • Lead the creation of digital context and content needed to drive successful digital marketing campaigns

  • Assess unmet needs aligned with business objectives including consideration, trial, preference and loyalty

  • Pre-launch, work with market research to develop key metrics that will drive success of brand launch. These would include HCP attitudes and beliefs, program implementation successes, etc

  • Post launch, lead the monitoring and actions taken to ensure leading and lagging metrics are being achieved that will drive brand success

  • Develop and lead implementation of customer segmentation work

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree; MBA or other advanced degree preferred

  • 10 years of professional work experience, customer/consumer marketing experience, with 5+ years of proven success in recent digital/social media and multi-channel campaigns; Experience in oncology a plus

  • Highly motivated change agent that can push against the status quo and seed new ideas

  • Passionate about serving customers, especially patients

  • Strong organization, project management and budget management skills

  • Exceptional influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral)

  • Strong relationship building skills, especially with external customer groups

  • Ensures adherence to all corporate and divisional compliance policies and guidelines

  • Leadership-rallies others to a common vision, bring together various groups/individuals and leverages their diversity and differing views

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong business acumen with proven ability to identify, address customer needs, align strategies and tactics, make the best use of digital channels

  • Strategic thinker who can see big picture opportunities for the brand and the business

  • Fast learner who does not need extensive oversight to deliver

  • Works in a collaborative manner with cross functional teams, bringing them along throughout the process
