Director, Credit & Collections, Latin America

Restructuring Latin America finance organization to create focused credit and collections team for Brazil, Mexico, and MCA. Anticipated direct reports include Brazil based AR Manager and credit and collections team, Mexico based AR Manager and credit and collections team, and a shared services AR team based in Miami and off-shore serving the Multi-Country Area.

Position reports to SVP Financial Operations with significant relationships with LATAM CFO and country and regional Finance Directors along with the related sales teams

  • Review collection reports to ascertain status of collection and balance outstanding to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures

  • Establish operational objectives, work plans, and credit limits on customer accounts

  • Work closely with sales organizations to facilitate financing for various types of transactions and products on both a trade credit and multiyear financing basis

  • Audit delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectable; ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad credit status to account

  • Review and approve adjustments to accounts

  • Monitor the percentages of aged accounts

  • Staffing, training and development of credit and collections staff

  • Develop relationships with senior finance leaders with significant customers

Your passion is sparked by:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of eight to ten years of directly related credit and collections management experience

  • Previous experience working with collection agencies

  • Previous experience working in a complex, growing business environment

  • Advanced college degree (i.e. MBA) preferred

Ensures sales effectiveness strategy by driving customer focus value proposition for the BU and key account teams through understanding and identifying real customer needs and customer engagement models. Serves as a senior advisor to the Commercial function on key projects for key customers or segments. Provides analytical strategic thinking through market research, scenario planning, forecasting, market share and profitability to define winning strategy. Works in collaboration with Product Development & Innovation, Sales and Operational areas to ensure added value and achievement of profit objectives. Principal Accountabilities * Develop marketing plans to drive growth opportunity programs. * Defining and execute aggressive / actionable segment strategies that include the identification of technology platforms which create a defensible value proposition * Understand and quantify the market size, customer prioritization, value proposition/pricing, segmentation etc. * Drive and support Business Unit Sales teams by developing modular value propositions, as well as by supporting decision making in deal prioritization * Drive lead-management and establish price to win / market price * Develop Value pricing strategies and track progress jointly with BU Sales Excellence team * Understand and communicate the VOC (voice of the customer) within the BU by leading VOC roll-out, implementation and action plan * Strengthen relationship with Key Accounts by understanding the needs of the different functions of the customer. * Actively support new product development ideation and validate developments along the stage gate process * Overseeing the creation and execution of ARP Latin America strategic plan and budget * Leads all strategic projects and planning activities * Leads all segmentation and value proposition projects * Supports country/clusters with customer targeting initiatives and sales planning activities based on industry and market trends. * Creating core and growth sub segment plans, supported by relevant financial analyses, with clear go-to-market strategies and value propositions. * Leading Growth Accelerator (White Space). Utilizing the Growth Accelerator program and other strategic marketing processes to identify potential segments that represent growth opportunities for the business. * Driving the Innovation agenda and identifying Innovation and product development opportunities that will grow/improve profitability of the segment; interface with the R&D group to successfully bring these initiatives to full commercialization. * Managing market intelligence acquisition and monitors sales effectiveness * Leveraging the marketing function to promote Amcor in the marketplace, raising positive awareness and strengthening the brand image. * Providing leadership with respect to competitive analysis, market research and acquisition due diligence. * Being the voice of the customer in all internal discussions/decisions on overall business direction. Education and Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Business, International Business, Economics, Marketing or related field. * Proven marketing experience combined with commercial or business development experience in B2B markets (in the packaging industry is a plus) * Management of marketing and technical functions with a track record of building high performance teams that deliver results. * Familiarity with and ability to navigate the different Lain American cultures. * English and Spanish fluency a must, Portuguese a plus. * Strong work ethic and commitment to grow our business profitably. * Strong business development, marketing and customer relationship skills with track record of successfully growing businesses. * Strong financial and analytical skills, understand financial modeling and cost accounting. * Highly analytical with a solid technical aptitude. * Strong organizational and project management skills.
