Director Corporate Strategy - US Pharmaceutical

Locations: Dallas or The Woodlands, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Columbus, Ohio; Richmond, Virginia

Current Need:

McKesson's Corporate Strategy and Business Development team is seeking to add a Director to its existing US Pharma team that is responsible for strategy development and identifying and evaluating new business opportunities. In this challenging and highly visible role, this individual will support BU- and corporate-level strategic decision making by conducting projects related to market analysis, emerging industry trends, portfolio analysis, and identification of strategic needs as it relates to the pursuit of new business endeavors. This role will provide leadership in the design, development and implementation of strategic initiatives that advance McKesson's objective to achieve better business health for our customers and better care for all.

Position Description

  • Identifies, scopes and manages strategic projects end-to-end; maintains responsibility for deliverables and timelines, shifting priorities as needed; manages stakeholder relationships and expectations

  • Facilitates business problem solving through structured hypotheses, detailed analyses, and synthesized insights leading to recommendations to senior management

  • Develops economic models to evaluate acquisitions, new business models, or in support of understanding the size, growth, and evolution of markets in which we do business, doing so with imperfect data

  • Builds trust and productive relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization

  • Influences and gains acceptance of others to one's ideas through effective communication, relevant and insightful analyses, and creative thinking

  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company's products, competition, and broader market dynamics that frame the business context both present and over the next few years

  • Acts as thought partner in strategic discussions even outside of own projects

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years business development experience

Critical Skills

  • Highly prefer candidates from management consulting or investment banking with experience in managing complex projects or transactions. Healthcare industry is a plus but required

  • Strategic Thinking: evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities

  • Analytical Rigor: ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations

  • Financial Acumen: understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning, budgeting and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning to maximize shareholder value

  • Communications skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively

  • Healthcare Knowledge: knowledge of stakeholders, trends, economic drivers and policy across healthcare

Education

  • 4-year Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • MBA preferred

Travel

Occasional travel, around 20%.

Our team includes product managers, program managers, SDEs, scientists, and a range of operational and other specialty roles, and we operate at scale with over 17K Amazonians in our team, spanning 56 global locations, and handling over 50M contacts a year.</p><p>About the role:</p><p>PSAS's Command Center is the central defense against large-scale, Selling Partner-impacting incidents as well as driving operational excellence across the Selling Partner Operations organization.</p><p>As the Major Incident Ops Manager, you will be responsible for managing global support teams focused on responsive incident management and internal customer support, aligning business practices with your global peers and driving process improvement and problem management efforts to benefit local and global customers.</p><p>In this role, you will:</p><ul><li><p>Recognize inefficiency and identify ways to reduce support requests through process improvement.</p></li><li><p>Maintain operational awareness, anticipate challenges, be decisive, and exercise sound judgement in stressful situations.</p></li><li><p>Work with a group of regional team leaders to define the priorities and track the metrics and key performance indicators for your teams.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with engineering teams to coordinate the support of new tools and services.</p></li><li><p>Hire, develop, and actively mentor staff.
