Job Purpose:

Our Director of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will lead the financial planning processes including the annual operating plan, monthly forecast cycle, and comprehensive five-year strategic plan. This highly strategic and analytical leadership role will oversee a talented team of three managers and be instrumental in delivering key financial insights and guidance to the senior leadership team, board of directors and external investors.

The role requires building strong business relationships with the Veritiv management team and private equity sponsor. The role requires some Investor Relations experience crafting narrative for external investors.

Job Responsibilities:

● Lead the development and execution of the enterprise-level annual operating plan, monthly forecast cycle and five-year strategic plan, ensuring alignment with business leadership and strategic initiatives.

● Analyze the financial and operational results of the company and develop communication strategy and messaging for quarterly earnings calls.

● Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual earnings materials, including the earnings script, slides, and Q&A documents.

● Analyze market information and historical/forward-looking financial data and identify key insights, drivers of performance and relevant risks and opportunities.

● Creates financial models and makes recommendations for future business planning decisions.

● Partner with corporate development team to analyze and evaluate financial scenarios including potential portfolio decisions such as acquisitions and divestitures.

● Support inorganic growth as a key member of the acquisition integration team and leader of the value creation process.

● Develop enterprise financial reporting strategy and cadence with emphasis on automation.

● Drive adoption of advanced technology and continue current path toward financial transformation.

● Disruptive thinker who has a willingness to challenge the status quo and continuous improvement mindset.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● Strong understanding of three-statement financial modeling and concepts such as WACC and DCF.

● Self-starter with "roll up the sleeves" mentality and strong teamwork skills and ability to develop relationships with key internal stakeholders across functional areas and private equity sponsor.

● Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team to deliver multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.

● Expertise in the Hyperion suite of products.

● Investor Relations experience crafting narrative for external investors.

● CMA, CPA or CFA preferred.

Work Experience:

● 10-15 years of related job experience.

● 3-5 years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent.

● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.

● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.

● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.

● Experienced in providing leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes, and challenges.

● Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames.

● Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.

● Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.

● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

● Strong planning and organization skills are required.

Education:

● Master's Degree Preferred

● Bachelor's Degree

● Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

● Certified Management Accountant (CMA) - Institute of Management Accountants
