Job Summary:

The Director of Corporate Relations executes a comprehensive corporate relations program in support of university priorities. This position directs and manages a strategic portfolio of corporate relationships, and successfully manages those relationships, in coordination with the appropriate department faculty, Institutional Advancement staff, other university staff, and community partners. The goal of this position is to sustain and increase revenue for UT Health San Antonio priorities as part of the Corporate & Foundation Relations team.

Provides strategic direction and long-range/short-range planning for UT Health San Antonio's philanthropic priority areas in the context of growing the corporate relations program while supporting the greater development goals of Institutional Advancement. The Corporate and Foundation Relations team works to match the interests of corporations with The UT Health San Antonio's programmatic strengths and priorities. Responsible for the cultivation and solicitation of national, state, regional, and local corporate entities. Plans, coordinates, and implements appropriate corporate fundraising activities for all UT Health San Antonio entities, the Director of Corporate Relations will develop strategies to cultivate relationships with corporations in a meaningful way to support research, education, patient care and enhance community and public health. The Director of Corporate Relations reports to the Senior Director Corporate and Foundation Relations and will focus on developing support for nationally/internationally recognized initiatives through Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Giving Programs, Event Sponsorships, Office of Technology Commercialization, Corporate Community Partnerships.

Job Duties:

  • Plans and implements fundraising strategy that engages foundation and corporate support for the UT Health San Antonio mission, vision and highest priorities; includes submitting, documenting and stewarding grants and proposals, in coordination with university faculty and staff in multiple departments.

  • Meets or exceeds annual fundraising goals as part of the Corporate & Foundation Relations team.

  • Communicates progress regularly to OIA, other departments, and university leadership.

  • Maintains existing relationships and builds new relationships with the individuals who support the foundations and corporations that support the UT Health San Antonio.

  • Hosts site visits for foundation and corporate representatives, university faculty and leadership.

  • Develops relationships with UT Health San Antonio faculty members; continually learns about UT Health San Antonio programs and priorities, keeps Corporate & Foundation Relations team up to date as programs grow and develop.

  • Stewards corporate and foundation donors in coordination with faculty and other teams within the Office of Institutional Advancement.

  • Prepares internal and external reports.

  • Provides supervision and management of department employees.

  • Measures and assesses performance for employees and contributes to decisions regarding assignments, schedules and promotions.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor degree is required.

Experience:

Eight (8) years of development and fundraising experience is required.

Supervisory Requirements:

Has the authority to direct the work of others, hire or fire employees, or provide recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employee.
