Job Summary:

The Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations executes a comprehensive program in support of university priorities. The position directs and manages a strategic portfolio of corporate and foundation relationships, and successfully manages those relationships, in coordination with the appropriate department faculty, Institutional Advancement staff, other university staff, and community partners. The goal of this position is to sustain and increase revenue for UT Health San Antonio priorities as part of the Corporate & Foundation Relations team.

Provides strategic direction and long-range/short-range planning for UT Health San Antonio's philanthropic priority areas in the context of growing the corporate and foundation relations program while supporting the greater development goals of Institutional Advancement. The Corporate & Foundation Relations team works to match the interests of funding organizations with UT Health San Antonio's programmatic strengths and priorities. Portfolio will include national, state, regional and local entities. Plans, coordinates, and implements appropriate fundraising activities for all UT Health San Antonio entities, develops strategies to cultivate relationships that support research, education, patient care and enhance community and public health. The Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations reports to the Senior Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations.

Job Duties:

  • Plans and implements fundraising strategy that engages foundation and corporate support for the UT Health San Antonio mission, vision and highest priorities

  • Develops, submits, documents and stewards grants and proposals in coordination with university faculty and staff in multiple departments

  • Meets or exceeds annual fundraising goals as part of the Corporate & Foundation Relations team; contributes to team, department and university goals

  • Communicates progress regularly to team members, the Office of Institutional Advancement, other departments, and university leadership

  • Maintains existing relationships and builds new relationships with foundations and corporations that support UT Health San Antonio

  • Develops relationships with UT Health San Antonio faculty members; continually learns about UT Health San Antonio programs and priorities, keeps Corporate & Foundation Relations team up to date as programs grow and develop

  • Stewards corporate and foundation donors in coordination with faculty and other teams within the Office of Institutional Advancement, including producing timely reports, site visits, calls and other typical methods of stewardship

  • Writes, edits and reviews proposals in response to calls for proposals/RFPs

  • Assists in the development of strategies for effective and impactful proposals

  • Prepares internal and external reports

  • Uses tools and technology according to Office of Institutional Advancement procedures and expectations, including daily use of Microsoft Office suite, Raiser's Edge NXT database, and common videoconferencing systems (Zoom, Teams, etc)

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience:

Eight (8) years of development and fundraising experience is required

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field is required

Preferred:

Grant Writing experience preferred

Must be able to:

  • Travel infrequently, including some overnight stays, to visit prospects, donors and professional advisors, and attend professional meetings

  • Organize tasks and information effectively; manage tasks effectively and efficiently; report on progress regularly

  • Work with confidential information

  • Read and understand business and financial reports; make correct conclusions

  • Analyze situations, make decisions, solve problems, and make recommendations for team consideration

  • Use desktop and laptop computers, cell phones, tablets, videoconferencing technology, databases including Raiser's Edge NXT, Microsoft Office suite, and learn new technologies as required

Supervisory Requirements:

Has the authority to direct the work of others, hire or fire employees, or provide recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of another employee

The Office of the Institutional Advancement team works to match the interests of corporations with The UT Health San Antonio's programmatic strengths and priorities. Responsible for the cultivation and solicitation of national, state, regional, and local corporate entities. Plans, coordinates, and implements appropriate corporate fundraising activities for all UT Health San Antonio entities, the Senior Director of Corporate Engagement will develop strategies to cultivate relationships with corporations in a meaningful way to support research, education, patient care and enhance community and public health. The Senior Director of Corporate Engagement reports to the Senior Executive Director, Strategy and Impact under the direction of the VP, Institutional Advancement, and University President, and will focus on developing support for nationally/internationally recognized initiatives through Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Giving Programs, Event Sponsorships, OTC - Office of Technology Commercialization, Corporate Community Partnerships.</p><p>Job Duties:</p><ul><li><p>Plans, implements, and supervises identification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement and stewardship of prospective corporate entities.</p></li><li><p>Cultivates prospective donors through a variety of informational methods, including face-to-face visits, phone, and letter correspondence, interactions at stewardship events, etc. Coordinates and supervises the presentation of corporate gift proposals.</p></li><li><p>Meet or exceed annual visitation, solicitation and attainment goals as defined in collaboration with leadership.</p></li><li><p>Develops and completes ongoing benchmarks for the UT Health San Antonio corporate relations program.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with University staff, faculty, physicians, and leadership to create opportunities to build awareness and significantly expand fundraising relationships.
