Overview

The Director, Corporate Business Review reports directly to the Vice President, Program Excellence, and is responsible for leading enterprise proposal analysis to ensure executive management is fully and accurately informed on key pursuit activity, with a specific focus on pricing and associated risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Interfacing with Senior Executive Management to ensure that Corporate Business Review policies and procedures for proposals are executed in a timely manner resulting in an accurate and detailed analysis of the proposal's business case.

  • Ensuring Senior Executive Management is kept abreast of upcoming critical requirements allowing them sufficient time to provide guidance to the divisions / segments with regard to proposal strategy.

  • Maintain best practice approach to proposal reviews and enhance existing framework and processes driving further efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and direction to division and segment leadership on bid strategies and ambiguities that may arise during the proposal review process.

  • Refine and enhance the enterprise bid and proposal review process.

  • Identify and monitor key proposal metrics, generate scorecard metrics, and communicate trends to leadership.

  • Report on overall proposal summary recommendations and cost, technical, and schedule risk assessments, including quantified impacts.

  • Regular interaction with leadership in strategizing the implementation of the Corporate Business Review policies and procedures for proposal review.

  • Partner with Corporate and Segment leadership to ensure proposal efforts align to business needs and support short-term and long-term strategies.

  • Review the analysis of the business cases to ensure all pertinent areas have been thoroughly vetted and reviewed, driving a collective understanding of inherent risks and opportunities in the proposal before reviewing with Senior Executive Management.

  • Early engagement with segment teams prior to proposal submission with a focus on bid strategy; Perform early and up-front detailed review of critical / high-risk RFP's to assist leadership in understanding the requirements, and provide recommendations where ambiguities exist, or additional clarity needs to be requested.

  • Instill the capabilities of the Corporate Business Review team into segment capture teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience in the aerospace and defense industry.

  • Minimum of 5 years direct supervisory/management experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development, generation, and management of proposals, including RFP analysis, cost / pricing, compliance, and negotiations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial, business operations, and management in a DOD environment; including experience and knowledge in proposal development, financial analysis, program management, budget and schedule control, cost accounting, contracts, engineering, manufacturing, quality, business perations and strategic planning.

  • Experience in organizations and situations requiring a combination of strategic vision, practical project management, and execution skills.

  • Ability to build and develop a team.

  • Ability to quickly assess complex proposals and associated issues to quickly add significant value to the process.

  • Exceptional ability to co-create and work collectively with various business leaders and other key stakeholders.

  • Provide leadership to translate strategic priorities into actionable game plans and ensure the right resources are in place, considering both capability and capacity; drive execution, ensure the right KPIs are in the place to support the measurement of impact.

  • Function as a knowledge base and advisor to leadership.
