What you will be doing

Under general direction of the Senior Director

  • Corporate Accounting, the Director

  • Corporate Accounting has responsibility for managing the close of Corporate Accounting and developing the Corporate Accounting Staff. The Director will enforce sound accounting policies and practices of the General Ledger Accounting and Fixed Assets Groups. Additionally, the Director will provide guidance to functional managers with regards to their departmental expense and other matters.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Corporate Office in Conshohocken, PA.

  • Review and ensure the timely completion of the Corporate Accounting close process. The specific areas of review include: cash management, payroll & benefits, cash receipts, fixed assets, accounts reconciliation, and related party eliminations.

  • Review and ensure the timely completion of Cencora monthly, quarterly, and annually census filings.

  • Function as a liaison between Corporate Accounting with other Corporate Departments and Cencora business units, including providing guidance and communication of corporate expenses.

  • Manage and develop the Fixed Assets and Corporate Accounting Team.

  • Responsible for overseeing the reconciliation of intercompany balances with the international operations, ensuring transactions are invoiced and paid.

  • Review corporate balance sheet and income statement and perform variance analytics, including the overall analytic review provided to the external auditors.

  • Coordinates extensively with external auditors and senior management.

  • Ensures that the internal controls and processes related to consolidation and reporting are in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

  • Responsible for the collection and consolidation of certain financial information utilized in internal and external financial reporting.

  • Timely development and completion of internal management financial reporting packages and other financial data on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned by the Senior Director, Corporate Accounting.

What your background should look like

  • Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • CPA preferred

  • Normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible experience

  • Significant experience in public accounting; ideally with a Big 4 firm or tier II accounting firm

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and working knowledge of IFRS

  • Strong technical accounting skills Knowledge of data analysis and mining tools including PC-based tools such as Microsoft Access, Excel, SAP, and Oracle Reporting Tools

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Ability to manage across teams to accomplish a common goal

  • Ability to develop new processes, and provide efficiencies to established processes

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative

  • Strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
