Job Description:
Available: Permanent position that begins with the 2024-2025 school year. Official start date will be July 1, 2024. This is a 12-month position.

Qualifications:
CT School Counseling certification (068) and Intermediate Administration and Supervision Certificate (092) required
Minimum of three years of experience in a school counseling and leadership role
Responsibilities Include:
Supports the development and implementation of school counseling programs
Understands, develops and implements systems and procedures to address the needs of culturally and emotionally diverse students, parents and families
Works collaboratively with the school administration, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, attendance officials, special education professionals and mental health professionals to identify and develop best practices focusing on student success and support
Promotes and implements district and site based approaches to increase family access and engagement
Supervises and coordinates the College and Career Center
Acts as 504 Coordinator
Oversees the transition from Naviance to Scoir
Oversees the development of all class schedules
Supervision and evaluation of a department of five school counselors, school social worker, psychologist and support staff
The Successful Candidate Should Have:
A record of successful performance as a school counselor and evidence of successful school leadership
Substantial knowledge of high school curriculum, instruction, and scheduling
Knowledge of college admission process
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, administrators and the community
Ability to maintain discretion and a high level of confidentiality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
