NYS Registered Nurse with Master's Degree in Health Education or Administration.
Must have demonstrated leadership experience with a working knowledge of current community health issues. Previous hospital/healthcare community education experience or community-based education/outreach experience with various cultures. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to speak publicly to various audiences.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or eligible preferred. Must be able to travel by own vehicle to and from events across Long Island, including Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends based on department need and community outreach activities schedule.
Designs and implements the highest quality and most innovative health education and wellness programs for the South Nassau Community, including health screenings, flu vaccination, weight control, smoking cessation, CPR, Lamaze.
Acts as a liaison with multiple community agencies, programs, and services. Lectures and coordinates other Guest Speakers on health topics and distributes health education literature. Manages the day-to-day operation of the Community Education & CPR Departments including staffing, training, and budgeting.
