OBJECTIVES:

  • The primary objective of this position is to facilitate the planning and program management of critical commercial activities, acting as a key business partner to the NOBU (Neuroscience Ophthalmic Business Unit) Franchise Head/Brand Lead. Major responsibilities include the planning and facilitation of monthly cross-functional business review meetings between Business Unit Brand Leads, Finance, Forecasting, Sales, Analytics, Contracts & Pricing, Medical and Managed Markets. This role also orchestrates the analyses and cross functional discussion and alignment which yields business inputs for each financial planning cycle (Mid-Year Commitment, Long Range Forecast, Mid-Range Plan and LBEs). This position will also plan, direct and coordinate ad-hoc commercial planning and performance activities as appropriate business needs are identified for the respective brand/franchise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Chairs the monthly brand business review meeting for NOBU.

  • Leads and collaborates with brand, finance, forecasting, sales, C&P, analytics, medical and managed markets for inputs into both commercial planning to support the financial planning cycle, and cross-functional business review meetings.

  • Serves as point of contact for all cross functional leads, for performance related activities that need cross functional support.

  • Works with cross-functional team to develop appropriate reporting and KPI needs for brand that feed into the monthly business reviews

  • Stays abreast of all activities across the business associated with the brand and ensures there is cross functional alignment and awareness.

  • Serves as primary point of contact to centralized US Commercial Operations group, ensuring all key NOBU priorities are communicated and understood by US Commercial Operations strategic support function

  • Develops and executes upon a work plan in a manner consistent with good project management practices for handling issues, risks and stakeholder communication

  • Identifies appropriate topics to be elevated to executive management.

  • Ensures strong project management of critical cross functional initiatives

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • Combined 8-10 years of pharmaceutical or related experience in Marketing, Sales, Finance, New Product Planning, Marketing Analytics and Research, Medical Affairs, Sales, IT.

  • Extensive experience in an analytical role.

  • Relevant experience in leading cross-functional teams and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong learning agility

  • Prior leadership and managerial roles in pharmaceutical industry.

  • Demonstrated competency in managing large and complex projects

  • Excellent Communication Skills

  • Required Skills:

  • Ability to evaluate an overall marketing strategy and communicate the implementation of the strategy.

  • Ability to set priorities; develop workflow processes, and direct a team of colleagues with no official reporting relationship.

  • Ability to think through the logical consequences of proposed plans and ensure that all alternatives and contingencies have been considered.

  • Demonstrate the ability to influence disparate stakeholders toward a common plan or goal. This includes multiple levels (project manager to President) of employees both across companies and across cultures.

  • Desired:

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience in senior marketing, sales or operations positions at a commercial organization.

  • Industry knowledge comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry including the planning process/business cycles.

  • Demonstrate understanding of various marketing methods and concepts (e.g. marketing research, advertising, public relations and product positioning, strategy development).

  • Demonstrated understanding of analytics, business modeling and basic valuation concepts (NPV, ROI, IRR).

  • Valid driver's license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work environment:

  • Due to travel, the work environment includes exposure to both inside and outside working conditions. Temperature and length of exposure varies depending upon meeting location and transportation.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings Infrequent overnight travel.

  • Requires approximately 15 % travel.

In this role, you will contribute to Takeda's mission by becoming a trusted resource within the Specialty Division Gastroenterology Business Unit for sales brand and launch strategy analytics and insights and gain greater exposure as the Gastroenterology Business Unit Specialty Division grows. A typical day will include: POSITION OBJECTIVES: * Leads business reviews with the sales, managed markets and marketing leadership for Specialty GI portfolio to provide recommendations on effective tactics using KPIs and other lead sales performance indicators. The Sr Manager is also responsible for developing new capabilities to develop analysis and models that use best practices and industry knowledge. * Provides an objective and detailed understanding of current and future markets, product performance, customers, and competitors to inform GI product life cycle management, support the commercialization of pipeline assets and guide product and disease area strategy. * Builds strong relationships with internal partners (Marketing/Brand, Sales, Strategy, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Commercial Operations and Forecasting), collaborating effectively to ensure team success. * Leads and manages the development of a holistic cross-functional GI analytics point of view to address specified ad hoc cross-brand and/or cross-functional business questions that require the integration of output from marketing analytics, sales analytics, decision science, and primarily market research. Creates value by adding own and synthesizing groups' insights into actionable reports with insights from the results, the "why" of the visual information. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Responsible for the preparation and delivery of market, analytics and technical training to new team members (e.g. market trends, secondary data reviews, BI software tools: Tableau or PowerBI, etc.). * Create and deploy tools and resources to continuously improve our understanding of the market and to drive business goals. * Takes lead role in working with other TPUSA departments (e.g., Commercial Operations IT, Data Governance, Managed Markets, Incentive Compensation, Sales Reporting) to ensure data quality, compliance and improve the quality of analytics. * Ensures that all reporting has gone through the QC process to ensure accuracy and communication clarity prior to being presented to our customers. * Evaluates, recommends and communicates appropriate models/techniques and industry knowledge to other team members. * Provides team members with timely, constructive feedback, and support. Utilizes creativity and ingenuity to develop solutions to complex problems, formulates strategies and approaches that may fall outside historical norms. * Sought out as an analytical expert and, more importantly, as a strategic adviser. Grasps key issues quickly, understands the "big picture" and links market insights to larger issues. * In-depth experience designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative primary and secondary market research. The ability to meaningfully portray and effectively communicate complex quantitative data in an easy-to-understand format is required. Must have in-depth knowledge and experience in a complex franchise-specific market. Proven experience with global Sales and Marketing organizations and experience with pharmaceutical data sources e.g., IQVIA/IMS, SHA and chart audits are required. * Knowledge of coding techniques in SAS and VBA, (Or Python, R, or similar), comfort with automation of reporting. * Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Qlikview or similar preferred, willingness to learn required. * Experience with people management preferred.
