Position Overview

  • Key member of the US Commercial team with a primary focus on generating revenue for Lagardre Sports' US core capabilities: brand consulting and activation; live event production and experiential marketing, and content development

  • Work closely with the Lagardre US business units as needed to develop solutions for clients that might include, but is not limited to brands, teams, leagues, and media properties

  • Work closely with the Lagardre global sales network

  • Work closely with Lagardre subject matter experts such as data and insights, creative, content production, and digital teams to develop revenue generating solutions

  • Conduct smart, proactive, strategic outreach to prospects

  • Build and present sales and business development proposals to clients and prospects

  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospects with consistent outreach

  • Manage internal sales processes

  • Monitor all relevant media and trade journals to identify new business sector opportunities

  • Working with internal business leaders to ensure deadlines are met, and the best work product is presented

  • Work with internal CRM team to manage reporting

  • Work with internal stakeholders to drive thought leadership and marketing programs in the sports agency space


Qualifications and Skills

  • 6-8+ years of sales and business development experience, with a focus on selling sports agency services

  • Must have a proven track record of generating revenue with positive results, ideally on behalf of an agency

  • Experience working on global projects is preferred

  • Must be solution and results oriented

  • Team player who is aggressive, will take initiative, and lead

  • Must have experience in sports, entertainment, and/or lifestyle sectors

  • Possess a strong understanding of brand consulting, experiential marketing, media and content development

  • Domestic and some international travel may be required for this role

  • Must have strong verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Deadline driven, organized, and able to multi-task

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, sales CRM, and Apple programs (e.g., Keynote)

The Director of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development will be in charge of developing enterprise wide partnerships inclusive of, but not limited to; media, platforms, music, entertainment, technology, financial services and retail. This role will be responsible for proactively identifying and evaluating key strategic partners that deliver long-term profitable growth across the Verizon businesses. The Strategic Partnerships Team plays a critical role in planning and development by aligning Verizon's strategy with partners that can help to create positive customer experiences while increasing revenue. The Director reports to the Head of Strategic Sponsorships and Partnerships and will be the main point of contact for all key internal and external partners. The Director is also required to work closely across internal teams including: centralized media functions, creative teams, business unit marketing, the network team, local market teams, Internet sales operations, finance, new product teams and external agencies. Key lead for the following: * Lead a team to manage business development of end to end strategic partnership programs * Develop strategic recommendations through rigorous analysis, focus on the competition, evaluation of the marketplace, customer experience insight, deep partnership with the business and expert synthesis to drive the customer experience forward and partner with senior leaders to drive action and achieve revenue and business goals * Leveraging C-level partnerships to drive demand across business units and drive agreements to closure * Partnership with BUs (Consumer, Business, Media, etc..) on strategic initiatives, offers, engagements opportunities * Accountable for driving partnership value and one consistent Verizon voice * Incorporate all relevant line of business touch points * Develop and implement high-level measurement across all partnerships * Actively manage a pipeline of new opportunities, develop a horizon roadmap with projected revenue of $5B+ * Work cross-functionally with teams to develop and evolve ideas to bring together brand goals, retailer objectives and consumer needs. * Evaluate existing partner relationship/ structure to identify unmet needs, goals and opportunities and challenges. * Forecast strategic project ROI and ensure initiatives are aligned with Verizon's top business objectives. * Transformative growth requires the need to think bigger and broader-identify horizon opportunities that will drive positive customer outcomes, digital contribution and shareholder value * Bring horizon opportunities to life with the end goal to deliver customer value and generate new revenue streams * Tracking commitments with key partners * Quarterly Business Reviews with Key Partners * Develop and prepare dynamic presentations What we're looking for... * BS Degree in Marketing or equivalent experience (MBA Preferred) * 10+ years in sales andmarketing with experience in business development * Experience conducting high-exposure partnership deals and applications * Strong data product management background * Proven success in previous product launches * Experience in loyalty platforms and partnerships * Strong team leadership experience * High technical aptitude * Strong financial acumen * High energy person capable of managing multiple highly visibly complex technical projects * Capable of balancing tactical issues and strategic initiatives * Ability to leverage consumer insights to create actionable experiential activations * Well versed in working with both internal and external partners/teams * Exceptional negotiation skills When you join Verizon...
