What You Get To Do:

The Director, Clinical Quality supports the development, refinement and implementation of clinical quality standards, protocols, processes, monitoring tools, analytics and performance reporting in accordance and compliance with department initiatives, objectives and goals, as well as applicable contractual requirements, policies, procedures, laws, regulations and standards of patient care.

  • Consistently monitors the provision of all nursing/clinical services for clinical quality, appropriateness and efficiency.

  • Utilizes established Health Services, facility and partner contract stipulated policies and procedures in assisting Health Services Administrators and Clinical Nurse Supervisors in making optimal clinical decisions and using sound decisions in meeting the performance requirements for quality care delivery.

  • Reviews electronic medical record files to confirm provided services are adequately documented and that required services are reflected in documentation; works with Health Services and QA audit team to perform regular medical chart audits and to report findings to the health services leadership team.

  • Collaborates with team members in monitoring inmate/resident hospitalizations/outpatient procedures for appropriate utilization.

  • Monitors all facility catastrophic cases and critical watch lists to ensure appropriate care is consistently delivered to patients.

  • Recommends methods of improving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness of care delivery that results in improve clinical outcomes.

  • Monitors safety practices within medical departments and ensures safety and accident reports are appropriately disseminated as required by policies and procedures; performs after action investigation in cases of serious and unusual incidents and emergencies.

  • Supports and assists quality initiatives of the Clinical Quality Management team, including clinical protocols, standardized processes, continuum of care, clinical integration, complex care management, quality systems, and best practices in accordance with quality care outcomes.

  • Domestic U.S. travel may be required.


  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management or related field is required.

  • Must possess current RN license.

  • Three years of healthcare management experience to include quality assurance experience is required.

  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and possess a strong knowledge base of clinical nursing, correctional health care, and basic principle/practices of clinical quality management.

  • Must have a basic working knowledge of electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications including, Word, Excel and MS Teams.

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

Job Summary The Director of Clinical Risk Assessment is responsible for mitigating pre-admission clinical risks for our clients and our facilities. This role supports the Corporate Admissions Department in the quality of determinations being delivered based off of medical necessity and patient safety. Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * In partnership with the Vice President of Admissions, develops and implements strategies providing Clinical/Medical oversight for pre-admission assessments within the Corporate Admissions Department. * Partners with other department leaders to identify trends, assess risks, and gather feedback to further optimize pre-admission Clinical Assessments and Risk Mitigation. * Supervise and manage the pre-admission Clinical team who is responsible for managing High Risk queues, ASAM assessments, and facility approvals. * Actively supports the pre-admission Clinical Team to complete assessments and cover for Clinical Consultants when needed to ensure quick turnaround. * Continues to coach, train, and develop Corporate Admissions Clinical team. * Provide continuous training to the Corporate Admissions Department regarding new Clinical policies and or procedures. * Other duties as assigned based on business needs. Qualifications Education/ Experience: * Active RN, LCSW, LCADC, LMHC, LCPC, LCDP, or other relevant licensure required. * Bachelors in a Healthcare related field. * Minimum of 5 years leadership experience. * Minimum of 3 years in an acute setting. * Ability to review Medical records to help support appropriate determinations. * Understanding of UR and Payor contracts preferred but not required. * Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team. * Ability to be on call for emergency situations. * Exceptional coaching and development abilities. * Collaboratively work with other department leaders in order to achieve common goals. * Must be results driven, achieve deadlines, and work towards KPI's. * Ability to use and interpret data and construct strategic action plans based on clinical data to create process improvements or make business decisions. * Work with Salesforce project management to improve technology for capturing clinical data needed for process improvement. * Open to self-development and continual learning. * Advanced ability to interpret written information clearly and informatively. * Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens and gets clarification, responds well to questions, demonstrates group presentation skills, and actively participates in meetings. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Client Management Systems.
