Under the direction of Senior Claim Leadership, this position is responsible for the general management and performance of the Claim teams and the execution of functional business plans and strategy. The Director is accountable for the overall improvement in Total Claim Outcomes and processes. Ensures alignment with Business Partners and oversees the implementation of strategic claim initiatives. This position is a catalyst for change management and is responsible for talent development within the claim organization. Has the authority to hire, recommend termination, develop and evaluate claim staff.
Provides day-to-day leadership and supervision to claim managers; maintains productive working relationships with team members and other departments.
Fosters innovative, creative, and supportive work environment, engaging and inspiring claims personnel.
Analyzes key process and business reports to identify, implement, or recommend process improvements and operational projects.
Manages financial measures including: Customer Service, Claim Severity, and Allocated and Unallocated Loss Adjustment Expenses.
Monitors issues that require exceptions to normal process procedures and resolves internal claim department issues as needed,
Informs claim leadership of changes, potential changes, and other pertinent information affecting the claim department.
Provides support to claim team as needed to improve performance and ensures all employees have appropriate learning plan to build capabilities.

Bachelor's degree required.
12+ years of insurance claims experience.
8+ years of supervisory experience.
Strong project management discipline.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Advanced interpersonal and team building skills.
Ability to accurately interpret information and demonstrate problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and provide supervision.
Able to organize, prioritize, and guide work to meet deadlines.
Able to lead, coach, and develop others.
