The Gig:
As the Director of Charters, Meetings & Incentives, you'll lead the growth of revenue through Charters, Meetings & Incentives for Virgin Voyages (CMI). Together with the Charters, Meetings & Incentives team you will develop key programs and set the strategy to achieve revenue performance expectations. You will become well versed in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for development - planning, documenting, and advocating for technical and content-related needs for the CMI program.
You'll be an expert on group business and will contribute to the design of policies, procedures and practices that keep things simple ensuring the experience of all sailors is considered equally. You'll build the most amazing relationships with partners and companies and once we're up and running, you'll deliver amazing sales results. You will help curate an experience for everyone involved with our unique channels that is very Virgin and unlike anything else in the industry.

This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.
What You'll Be Up To:
Lead the definition of Incentive, Meetings and Charter sales & marketing strategies pulling from your experience but thinking outside of industry norms to create something uniquely Virgin
Make recommendations on the level of customization that we should consider for large onboard programs to support incentives and meetings
Review and Develop all sales processes and tools for quoting and contracting unique programs
Suggest shows, activities and events that we should participate in; represent Virgin Voyages and seek face-to-face opportunities with existing and prospective clients and partners
Qualify and pursue programs that will fit well with a Virgin experience and be able to respectfully decline business that isn't well suited
Partner with Marketing on the development of industry leading tools, collateral and technology to support our unique channels
Recommend associations and organizations that may be a fit for Virgin Voyages in these channels; identify new and interesting business development opportunities within them
Work with Sales Leadership Team to develop channel specific partner education and training materials that clearly outline an "epic sea change"
Understand key business drivers and be able to solve complex challenges through provocative thinking
Keep the sales leadership team apprised of the latest trends and opportunities involving full ship charters and incentive programs
Develop a sales & marketing plan for voyage sales onboard our ships as they come online and oversee all sales & marketing activity of onboard sales managers to insure they are incredibly successful
Establish and maintain excellent relationships across the business

SuperPowers Required:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum 7 years in cruise industry sales with specific experience selling large corporate and special event programs
Minimum 2 years' experience supervising support staff
In-depth knowledge of the cruise market and sales strategies across a variety of segments; hotel or land based group or special event sales a plus
Existing, deep bonds with key business partners and companies that offer large travel programs
A quantitative approach, with experience in KPI and financial report creation
A proven ability to negotiate with senior level executives
A proven performance track record of exceptional personal and team sales results
An ability to think outside of industry norms
A passion to deliver on results and exceed goals
Creativity and a desire to change things for the better
