Job Summary

Manages the sale of the organization's products or services through the distribution/retail sales channel (sales to distributors/dealers/agents or sales to retailers) on a national or geographic basis. Incumbents at the Director and Senior Director level typically manage other sales managers.

Incumbents at the Manager level may manage only individual contributor sales account managers or may manage the organization's relationship with independent representatives (non-employees), distributors, or agents; they also may carry their own sales quota. The incumbent's level may be determined by the size of the geographic area of responsibility (e.g., region vs. district vs. branch), the size or significance of the industry or product segment for which the incumbent is responsible, or other factors.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; presentation, customer service, business and negotiation skills.- Ability to travel within assigned region, working closely with District Managers, Sales Representatives, and channel partners. Occasional travel outside of region required.- Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies and competitive offerings in the marketplace.

  • Experience with target account selling, solution selling, and/or consultative sales techniques.- An aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.

  • Experience as a Channel Sales Representative with a track record of exceeding assigned sales quotas in contiguous, multiple years.

  • Demonstrated experience working with Sales organizations and technical teams.- Creative approach to problem solving.- Experience with developing budgets and predicting project costs.- A demonstrated ability to manage management level employees.Management and Interaction:Management:- This individual uses their management and technical skills to develop, modify and execute company policies that affect operations and may have a company wide effect.

  • The scope of responsibility for this person includes implementing strategic policies and establishing and adhering to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.- This individual manages the coordination of activities of a section or department for a specific geographic region or area, with full responsibility for oversight in terms of costs, methods and staffing.

For more information visit Highlights: The primary responsibility for this position is to identify, recruit and develop qualified Value Added Reseller's. This includes nationally and partner agents in the Mid-Atlantic footprint (MD,DC,DE,VA & WV) that will generate revenue based on selling Spectrum Enterprise products and services. The Hybrid VAR/ Regional Channel Manager will produce revenue by preparing strategic sales plans and implementing sales campaigns to rapidly grow Indirect Sales revenue. Additional responsibilities include managing established Value added reseller partners across the national footprint and Partner Agents in the Mid-Atlantic area. What you will do: * The Hybrid VAR/ Regional Channel Manager is an outside sales/sales management position that manages independent Value Added Resellers and partner agents. * Recruit, train, enable and retain our qualified VAR and indirect channel partners. * Create strategic business plans and monthly and quarterly revenue targets with Value Added Resellers. * Organize and conduct training programs to ensure our VARs and Sub-Agents are certified to sell Spectrum Enterprise Fiber-based products and services. * Develop communication plans with Value Added Resellers and Sub-agents to drive market awareness of Spectrum Enterprise, promote new product announcements and marketing/sales incentives to drive revenue growth. * Responsible for all sales support for Value Added Resellers and Sub-Agents to include assisting partners to close business and serving as a single point of contact to engage sales engineering resources to close large complex deals across a specific geography. * Identify any negative trends impacting sales and provide necessary problem resolution to the VARs and Sub-Agents * A thorough understanding of Voice (PRI, VOIP Applications), Data (TDM, DS3, OCx, & Ethernet services), equipment vendors (Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, etc.), and managed services is required. * Participate in industry-related events to further develop the opportunities to secure new business. * Responsible for meeting and exceeding individual sales monthly revenue targets Required keys for success: * Existing relationship with VARs and Sub-Agents * Five or more years of successful telecommunications sales or technical experience * Demonstrated success as a top sales performer, consistently exceeding revenue quota * Proven business to business sales experience with "C level" decision-makers * Strong working knowledge of computer networking, LAN and WAN technologies, high-capacity and fiber connected networks * Excellent communication, presentation, closing and negotiation skills * The ability to learn quickly and apply that knowledge, along with the ability to work in a team environment * Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record Your education: * Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred) * Telecommunications industry experience Time Warner Cable New York City NY
