The Director, Business Analysis leads and oversees the business analysis function to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. The role requires a solid understanding of business requirements, documentation, and the software development processes. This position will work closely with the business technology team in a highly collaborative manner to interface with the key stakeholder groups. Establishing and maintaining good relationships through strong communication is of high importance, as this role involves leading meetings with Institute Executives, functional leadership & team members, vendors, and Information Technology personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide visionary leadership to the business analysis team, ensuring synergy and excellence across the team members.

  • Nurture an internal function that serves as a business partner to business units, translating data into strategic decisions.

  • Initiate and lead analytical projects that optimize company processes and ensure that the resources we spend deliver actionable results and outcomes for our stakeholders.

  • Guide project assignments, ensuring the team's skills and capabilities are effectively utilized.

  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps, aligning with the Institute's goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations, and requirements.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business analysis standards and best practices.

  • Establish strong relationship with cross-functional teams, including project managers, development teams, and other stakeholders, to facilitate effective communication and understanding of business requirements, ensuring successful project outcomes.

  • Oversee and coordinate business analysis activities across multiple projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of requirements and solutions.

  • Function as a point of escalation for complex issues, providing resolution and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Implement and enforce quality assurance processes for business analysis deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project objectives.

  • Conduct regular reviews of business analysis documentation and provide constructive feedback to the team.

  • Identify training and development needs for the business analysis team, facilitating ongoing learning and skill enhancement.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Promote a collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Initiative-taking with a desire to contribute to the success of the department and company.

  • Proficient with Agile methodologies.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a history of building and leading high-performing teams.

  • Strong knowledge of Business Analysis, Software Development, Project Management, and Data Management skillset.

  • Strong business and financial acumen, with a proven record of strategic planning, functional transformation, change management, sourcing, and budget and resource management.

  • Able to translate business needs into detailed technical specifications for application development.

  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing and quality assurance.

  • Strong knowledge of software development and implementation/deployment lifecycle and best practices.

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent organization and documentations skills, with the ability to design and facilitate a group process, elicit contributions, stimulate focused discussions and achieve a desired outcome, consensus builder.

  • Direct experience with on-premises and cloud-based enterprise systems; Knowledge of how to design, manage, and integrate these systems to support current and future business needs.

  • Ability to maintain and foster sensitivity and respect for a culturally diverse work environment.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally, if needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field; and 10-12+ years of related work experience. Master's degree is a plus.

  • 3+ years of experience leading or supervising staff, 7+ years preferred

  • Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP) is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)

  • Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.

  • Extensive use of office equipment including computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business-related machines and software.

Pay Range: $157-210K
