This position is for a Director, Business Intelligence Delivery Lead role within the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) organization.

The Business Intelligence Delivery Director will be responsible for modernizing a portfolio of BI and Analytic assets supporting Commercial lines business operations team across Small, Middle and Large Commercial. BI Transformation supporting business operations is one of the top 10 priorities for EDO.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader who has proven experience managing large scale Business Intelligence, Data and Reporting assets (BI reporting, dashboard, analytics, data warehouses, data marts) as well as executing strategic BI transformation initiatives. The BI Delivery Lead will be a trusted partner and strategic advisor for the Commercial Lines Operations business leadership team.


Transform and Modernize

  • Partners with Business and BI/Data Architect to execute on a BI transformation roadmap for Commercial Business Operations using a modern architecture leveraging cloud tech stack and legacy asset replacement opportunities.

  • Be a thought leader and organization change agent who can drive a step change in the Ops BI and Analytics space by enabling business while simplifying the data environment and improving speed of delivery.


  • Modernize and Transform the space addressing challenges with Legacy tech stack, Data freshness issues, speed of deliver and quality challenges

  • Manage a portfolio of BI reporting, dashboard and data assets supporting Small, Middle and Large Commercial Business Operations


  • Collaborates with the appropriate individuals to translate Business strategy into BI strategy and ensure that capabilities required by the business are enabled.

  • Ensure portfolio initiatives are successfully executed and delivered on time, on budget, with high quality and enables the business.

  • Build trusted partnership with business stakeholders to identify the right priorities and establish a clear roadmap with plan of action to achieve them

  • Partners effectively with Architecture, Data Quality and Governance teams


  • Leader responsible for leading BI Business Data Analyst, BI Data Engineers, BI Analytics Engineer and QA team members.

  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports. Manages and coordinates strategic direction for staff. Attracts, retains, develops, and motivates top talent. Conducts annual and mid-year reviews, reviewing individual development plans and providing performance feedback

  • Build talent within the team through coaching as well as acquiring and growing talent

  • Manage the department financials with a bias towards cost efficiency and aligning costs to business benefits


  • Create a high performing team that has a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and is focused on business outcomes

  • Effectively communicate the big picture and clear plan to execute.

  • Build commitment and empower others, communicate with clarity, courage and timeliness

  • 15 years of experience in leading Business Intelligence organizations and deep expertise in building and/or managing large scale BI, Data and Analytic assets.

  • In depth knowledge of BI and data management strategies, principles and practices including experience with framework for data quality, data governance, stewardship and metadata management.

  • 5 years of hands on experience with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, MSBI (SQL Server, Integration Services, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services).

  • Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS, Hadoop, Teradata or other Big Data

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related field

  • Proven ability to lead large and complex portfolio including strategic and transformational initiatives

  • Proficient in shaping, aligning, and guiding execution of strategic direction for a critical BI and analytics investment portfolio

  • Experience in leading Agile teams

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, monitors and reviews best practices, and makes changes as necessary

  • Entrepreneurial spirit - self-motivated, strong sense of ownership/accountability, and results oriented with the ability to manage time and schedules effectively

  • Natural curiosity with a strong desire to learn, maintain, and apply knowledge of emerging BI&A tools, strategy, methodology, and general best practices

  • Experience in managing organizations with teams across employees and vendor partners in multiple locations

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills at the senior management level

  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic and decisive problem solving skills in ambiguous situations

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Proficient in managing and developing direct reports

  • Proven track record as a results-oriented technology leader that collaborates well with business leaders and manages outcomes holistically and accurately

  • Proven ability to simplify technology concepts to business stakeholders and help them adopt new technologies/processes

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate with senior management. Knowledge of effective communication strategies and how to impact and influence others

  • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience a plus
