About the Role:

This person will manage and direct projects spanning new business development transactions to existing strategic alliance partnerships at all stages of the product life cycle (research, development, and commercial). This person will serve as the primary point of contact for multiple therapeutic programs and strategic relationships across geographic regions. The individual will help lead cross-functional internal and external program teams and manage communication to ensure that projects progress and meet pre-defined objectives and timelines. This person will be responsible for ensuring that both parties adhere to the terms of the partnership agreement. Additional responsibilities include helping to build the external communications platform to present the Company to potential new collaborators at key meetings and conferences.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Develops and implements long-term strategic plans for the growth of the organization

  • Assists in the development of strategies for identifying and responding to business development opportunities, which may include internal expansion into new markets or external expansion via partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures

  • Works with the executive teams, including the strategic planning or mergers & acquisitions teams, to evaluate new business opportunities or assess potential markets

  • Collects and analyzes information that evaluates the organization's performance, strengths and weaknesses, and competitive landscape in order to identify new growth opportunities

  • Estimates business impact of strategic initiatives and prepares reports and recommendations for executive leadership teams

  • Proposes plans for leveraging organizational resources in order to capitalize on growth opportunities and tracks performance

  • Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures to make recommendations for new projects to be used for strategic business decisions

  • Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business objectives

  • Negotiates relationships with leading researchers in the field as consultants

  • Analyzes new market areas

  • Develops licensing objectives, policies and programs; initiates proposals, negotiations and presentations for the acquisition of licensing opportunities and technologies, as well as joint ventures and collaborative agreements in licensing opportunities

  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Life Sciences, Marketing or other business discipline and 12+ years of experience in marketing and related disciplines in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries; specialty product launch experience strongly preferred (CNS and/or psychiatry therapeutic areas experience a plus). Extensive previous managerial experiences also required OR

  • Master's degree or MBA preferred and 10+ years similar experience noted above OR

  • PhD preferred and 7+ years similar experience noted above OR

  • Recognized as an internal thought leader with extensive technical and business expertise within a strategic organization

  • Applies in-depth knowledge of own function, business / commercial / scientific expertise to solve critical issues successfully and innovatively

  • Evaluates key business / scientific challenges and completes complex, ambiguous initiatives having cross-functional impact

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills including strong written and oral communication abilities

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Thorough knowledge of strategic marketing and in-line brand management principals appropriate to pharmaceutical or biologic therapeutics

  • Exceptional command of data analytics, forecasting and market research techniques with a proven ability to interpret market insights to help guide strategic direction

  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and ability to partner with colleagues across the business and scientific areas of the organization

  • Knowledge of biotechnology or pharmaceutical market, customer base, and market trends across multiple geographic regions

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $180,200.00-$260,825.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
