The Director Business Development is a criticalmember of the AOSS Management team and will lead the effort to increase RFP andbidding opportunities for by extending the company brand identity in new andemerging North American markets. The Director will be responsible for direct salesefforts and through the direction of the BDM team to key accounts in theidentified markets of AOSS, but specifically the Owners and Contractors servingthe Owner facilities for outage services, Onsite stores and related industrialservices for each.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop relationships with prospective customers by establishing a solid presence in existing and new markets.
Build awareness and client base through active participation with local professional associations and networking events.
Lead, motivate and generate excitement around new initiatives and solutions within the industry offered by the company.
Safewatch Specifically, confined space monitoring
Safety Manpower Alliances collaboration
Any new products and services added from time to time
Develop strategy for and perform outreach efforts to customers within the industry.
Develop strategy for and perform outreach efforts internally with Airgas team members including:
Oil & Gas markets (Lee Scoggins)
Construction markets (Jason Vetterick)
Regional company AVP leadership
Maintains a systematic approach to business development based on AOSS and Airgas capabilities and works with other Airgas divisions on cross-business unit opportunities.
Maintain the bid workflow system and keep up to date by entering incoming bid request and lead effort with the development of these key customer proposals.
Lead CRM implementation and utilization of the system for AOSS.
Ability to plan, coordinate and participate in industry tradeshows.
Superior computer and presentations skills.
Superior communication skills both verbal and written.
Directs contract management and reviews
Directs all marketing activities for the company
Recruit, train and manage National Business Development team members
Job requires extensive travel (50% - 60%)
Requires good interpersonal skills
Must be able to work well with all Airgas related business units and personnel
Must understand and adhere to Airgas Guiding Principles and Core Values
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or relevant industry experience
Three years of experience in sales or business related activities or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background verification and drug testing required.
Minimum of 10 years sales/operations experience in the petrochemical or industrial services industry, with at least 5 current years of which is with a Safety or Industrial Services company.
