Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems' (NGAS) Autonomous Systems (AtS) Division has an immediate opening for a Director of Strategy & Business Development (S&BD). This position will be located in the Rancho Bernardo / San Diego, CA area and report to the Sector Director, S&BD.

This position is a leadership role and will significantly impact the Division's long-term business growth. The successful candidate will identify and implement business development projects relating to programs of record, new products and/or industries, technologies, or services. The individual will identify markets, licensing opportunities, and determine the feasibility of product development. This role will be required to perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities and/or business models and coordinate with internal departments in identifying/implementing business development projects. The position will team with sales, marketing and potential customers to determine their needs and develops and disseminates information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of comprehensive business development campaigns plans, long range objectives and strategic plans in partnership with S&BD, Program Management, Communications, Government Relations, executive management and other NG stakeholders that take the following into account: performance on current programs, protect program funding to meet NG financial commitments, requirements planning, growth commitments, and mission development.

  • Execute the campaign to include all stakeholders and customer community organizations, including other NG sectors and organizations; NG program, engineering, business management, contracts, logistics, etc

  • Provide guidance to the Strategy & Business Development (S&BD) team and program management to execute the campaign and ensure completeness.

  • Provide leadership with status and actions required to ensure campaign success.

  • Team with NG Corporate Government Relations to ensure Legislative efforts and senior customer engagements are being executed in the most effective manor

  • Be the S&BD lead for captures pertaining to the Business Acquisition Process (BAP)

  • Provide internal investment funding guidance and execution

  • Team with others in the S&BD organization to ensure domestic program campaign efforts are supportive of our NG growth objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10 years demonstrated expertise in any of the following: Defense Industry Business Development and/or Strategy, Program Management, Business Management, Active Military Service, or Engineering

  • 8 years demonstrated experience - either leading campaign teams, or integrated product teams

  • Strategic planning experience

  • Business Acquisition Process (BAP) experience

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Current and active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • 10 years in Business Development and Strategy development across a variety of customers and product areas

  • Thorough understanding of the DoD's and Intelligence Community's acquisition process

  • Knowledge of the Planning, Programing, Budget and Execution (PPBE) process

  • ISR Mission Domain expertise

  • Current and active TS/SCI Clearance

Northrop Grumman Advanced Programs is seeking a Director to lead program growth and future development for Advanced Programs and Military Aircraft Systems, Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector. The ideal candidate will provide direction on the sustainment and organic growth of existing business development targets/programs as well as developing and leading the future business capture strategy in Advanced Programs. Essential Functions: * The selected candidate will be responsible for translating customer needs into specific requirements, identifying/tailoring company services and solutions into offerings, and managing captures to effectively market the operating unit's products and capabilities to meet those needs. * The successful, self-motivated candidate must be execution-oriented in his/her approach toward business development, and must be capable of broad, strategic thinking with respect to emerging customer needs, competitive positioning, requisite capabilities, and the tactical moves necessary to enable the company to capture opportunity in the market. * Will be responsible for oversight on all aspects of program business development activities for Northrop Grumman Advanced Programs, including developing and executing growth strategies, identifying new business opportunities, establishing pursuit priorities, gaining and growing customer intimacy, and developing successful capture plans. * Leading pursuit and capture efforts and assisting Proposal Managers with the development of proposals to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for procurements across Advanced Programs and adjacent efforts. Basic Qualifications: * STEM Degree and a minimum of 10 years demonstrated expertise in any of the following: Defense Industry Business Development and/or Strategy, Program Management, Business Management, Active Military Service, or Engineering * 8 years demonstrated experience - either leading campaign teams, or integrated product teams * Strategic planning experience * Excellent communication and presentation skills are required * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Current and active DoD Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Aeronautics or adjacent science/engineering field, plus a minimum of 15 years' experience. * Cyber / System Security experience. * Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain special program access desired.
