Job Title: Director Compliance, Brand & Advertising
Location: Columbus, Ohio
The Brand and Advertising Compliance Officer will have the responsibility to build out and lead the Compliance team addressing all advertising and sales literature whether developed in-house or by a brand partner. The incumbent will oversee as well as develop and maintain a compliance program for the identified areas consistent with the Alliance Data's commitment to promulgate a contemporary ERM Program in-line regulatory requirements, expectations and best practices. The incumbent manages and oversees the workflow of the compliance functions under his or her charge with accountability for the effectiveness, productivity and performance of the function. The incumbent ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and with the Alliance Data's policies and procedures in conjunction with Alliance Data's ERM Program in an effort to reduce liability and compliance-related issues.
Essential Job Functions
Lead, coach and develop direct reports and a team of Compliance professionals focused on advertising collateral and related activities.
Design and implement a program and system to efficiently and effectively review and approve advertising collateral, statement inserts and other material for compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations
Responsible for the development of and updates to the advertising policy, program, procedures, and other related documentation.
Provide Compliance advice and guidance on advertising and sales literature to internal and external constituents.
Responsible for the development and execution of Compliance duties, program documentation and Compliance procedures related to advertising and sales literature.
Participate in applicable workgroup meetings to review, consolidate, and enhance existing compliance processes and establish process consistency across the enterprise.
Serve as a liaison to federal and state banking regulators, internal compliance testing staff and internal auditors during compliance reviews, audits and regulatory examinations. Support these activities as needed.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external business partners;
Offer advice and guidance on consumer protection regulations in areas such as new product, collateral expansion, and on all other projects as assigned.
Act as a subject matter expert on Bank Compliance consumer protection alphabet regulation policies and procedures, training and testing content.
Provide advice and guidance to, and work with senior leaders, bank partners and affiliates to help develop, implement, and maintain sustainable processes designed to mitigate consumer compliance risk.
Help perform compliance risk assessments and actively participate in Annual Compliance Plan process.
Lead effort to incorporate a compliant culture throughout the enterprise.
Master's degree or J.D. preferred
Preferred Work Experience
At least 10 years of experience in a leadership role
Experience managing teams, particularly building out and/or transforming teams
The ability to design, lead and advise on transformative enterprise-wide projects.
Experience communicating complex analytical concepts clearly to broad audiences, especially regulators.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exceptional ability to think creatively and strategically in order to understand business issues and link results to organizational effectiveness
Must possess an intellectual curiosity to research, learn and apply industry knowledge to product ownership and development
Ability to influence others and gain support from all levels of leadership is critical in this role
Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed organization with dotted line reporting relationships
