ABOUT THE JOB
A strategic, high impact role with responsibility to develop, institutionalize and execute strategic and tactical marketing support for FMI's Biopharma business. The candidate must be experienced in developing marketing strategies and have successfully executed marketing programs, tactics, processes and tools. The professional in this role will be an integral part of the Strategic Marketing team under the newly formed Global Portfolio Strategy organization. In this role you will work closely with your partners in the Strategic Marketing team and with the Biopharma organization as well. This role requires a self-starter who is able to conceptualize and build out professional marketing support for the function. The Director, BioPharma Strategic Marketing will lead a team of marketers who are supporting the above mentioned activities and who are also responsible for the so-called "CDx marketing" strategies. These activities entail working directly with our pharma partners to define global commercial collaboration opportunities as we roll out joint approvals of precision medicine solutions. The ability to work collaboratively and function in a fast-paced environment is a must. Experience in marketing strategy and execution, with the biopharmaceutical industry is key.
Lead the development of Biopharma marketing strategies, including landscape assessments, customer segmentation, and forward-looking portfolio building support activities (including geography, DO).
Collaborate with other internal stakeholders (assay marketing, data marketing, corp comms, medical) to align strategy, messaging and support the Biopharma team with appropriate outreach strategies.
Define a strategy and processes to assess Biopharma partner candidates at intake and later-on define frameworks to assess depth of collaboration with FMI teams (e.g. commercial field teams).
Work with business development and alliance management colleagues to structure and prioritize commercial biopharma collaborations and allocate resources from your team accordingly.
Lead a team of global strategic biopharma marketers and help prioritize commercial account activities (CDx).
Work closely with US and ex-US groups (commercial, medical) to define tactics and related resourcing needs with regards to CDx support activities.
Develop communications, messaging, tactics, processes, tools and associated materials in support of the broader Biopharma strategy and specific service offerings.
Lead strategy and content development to prepare for partner meetings at major customer forums as well as for major national and international partner summits in support of partnership expansion, market development (US and ex-US).
Keep abreast of partner needs and incorporate into marketing strategy.
Define integrated marketing campaigns using appropriate elements of the marketing mix to support objectives for specific service offerings (assay, data, insights).
Collaborate with corporate communications for PR and social media strategy and execution related to the growth of our Biopharma business and specific partnerships.
Other projects as periodically assigned.
7+ years of strategic. marketing experience in genomics, biotechnology or related field.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or life sciences.
Experience in-house at a biotechnology, device or pharmaceutical company.
3+ years people management experience.
Marketing experience in the oncology field.
Well- organized, analytical, creative, and strategic thinker capable of generating strategic action plans to support business goals and drive results.
Demonstrated ability to successfully drive a project to completion.
Understanding of different customer segments (providers, patients, biopharma, ) and ability to navigate external stakeholder management.
Demonstrated evidence of success working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment; able to build strong relationships across many functions within an organization.
Superior communication skills, verbal and written (PowerPoint presentation and oral presentation skills are required.
Self-starter able to work independently and a "can-do" attitude.
Passion for the life sciences and bringing innovative technologies to market for the benefit of patients.
