ABOUT THE JOB

A strategic, high impact role with responsibility to develop, institutionalize and execute strategic and tactical marketing support for FMI's Biopharma business. The candidate must be experienced in developing marketing strategies and have successfully executed marketing programs, tactics, processes and tools. The professional in this role will be an integral part of the Strategic Marketing team under the newly formed Global Portfolio Strategy organization. In this role you will work closely with your partners in the Strategic Marketing team and with the Biopharma organization as well. This role requires a self-starter who is able to conceptualize and build out professional marketing support for the function. The Director, BioPharma Strategic Marketing will lead a team of marketers who are supporting the above mentioned activities and who are also responsible for the so-called "CDx marketing" strategies. These activities entail working directly with our pharma partners to define global commercial collaboration opportunities as we roll out joint approvals of precision medicine solutions. The ability to work collaboratively and function in a fast-paced environment is a must. Experience in marketing strategy and execution, with the biopharmaceutical industry is key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of Biopharma marketing strategies, including landscape assessments, customer segmentation, and forward-looking portfolio building support activities (including geography, DO).

  • Collaborate with other internal stakeholders (assay marketing, data marketing, corp comms, medical) to align strategy, messaging and support the Biopharma team with appropriate outreach strategies.

  • Define a strategy and processes to assess Biopharma partner candidates at intake and later-on define frameworks to assess depth of collaboration with FMI teams (e.g. commercial field teams).

  • Work with business development and alliance management colleagues to structure and prioritize commercial biopharma collaborations and allocate resources from your team accordingly.

  • Lead a team of global strategic biopharma marketers and help prioritize commercial account activities (CDx).

  • Work closely with US and ex-US groups (commercial, medical) to define tactics and related resourcing needs with regards to CDx support activities.

  • Develop communications, messaging, tactics, processes, tools and associated materials in support of the broader Biopharma strategy and specific service offerings.

  • Lead strategy and content development to prepare for partner meetings at major customer forums as well as for major national and international partner summits in support of partnership expansion, market development (US and ex-US).

  • Keep abreast of partner needs and incorporate into marketing strategy.

  • Define integrated marketing campaigns using appropriate elements of the marketing mix to support objectives for specific service offerings (assay, data, insights).

  • Collaborate with corporate communications for PR and social media strategy and execution related to the growth of our Biopharma business and specific partnerships.

  • Other projects as periodically assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of strategic. marketing experience in genomics, biotechnology or related field.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or life sciences.

  • Experience in-house at a biotechnology, device or pharmaceutical company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years people management experience.

  • Marketing experience in the oncology field.

  • Well- organized, analytical, creative, and strategic thinker capable of generating strategic action plans to support business goals and drive results.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully drive a project to completion.

  • Understanding of different customer segments (providers, patients, biopharma, ) and ability to navigate external stakeholder management.

  • Demonstrated evidence of success working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment; able to build strong relationships across many functions within an organization.

  • Superior communication skills, verbal and written (PowerPoint presentation and oral presentation skills are required.

  • Self-starter able to work independently and a "can-do" attitude.

  • Passion for the life sciences and bringing innovative technologies to market for the benefit of patients.

ABOUT THE JOB The Senior Manager of Strategic Insights & Analytics will lead market and customer insight generation in support of FMI's Biopharma business unit. He/she is responsible for providing strategic insights through designing and delivering quantitative and qualitative market research, monitoring and tracking the competitive landscape, and conducting product, market, and competitive assessments. This role requires strong attention to detail, a curious and innovative mindset, enthusiasm to engage with stakeholders at all levels across the organization, and the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality. This position is key in ensuring the vision and mission of FMI are realized and requires travel (up to 10-20%). Key Responsibilities * Design and execute primary qualitative and quantitative market research projects to support our BioPharma strategy, including defining the research objectives, framing critical business questions, developing the market research approach, managing the execution of the research, analyzing data, preparing presentations and communicating results. * Contribute to the development of competitive intelligence activities including landscape tracking and congress CI strategy to support Biopharma strategic planning. * Effectively collaborate across a broad group of stakeholders including BioPharma, Data, Commercial, Finance, Global Product Strategy, and Corporate Strategy. * Partner with BioPharma team leadership to drive cross-functional alignment on market insights and implications. * Provide ongoing consultative support to the BioPharma team by analytically enabling their efforts to identify opportunities and build partnerships with key customers. Support project and ad-hoc requests to develop actionable customer, market, and product insights. * Provide an objective viewpoint based on in-depth understanding and analysis of market, competitive, and clinical information. * Other projects as periodically assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative or scientific discipline (eg. Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, etc) * Minimum Experience: 8+ years of experience in market research and analytics in diagnostic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare technology industry Preferred Qualifications: * Advanced Degree * Prior experience in oncology / immunology strongly preferred. * Experience in designing and executing a variety of market research studies, both new market entry and in-line products * Strong understanding of market research techniques and gathering competitive intelligence with secondary research. * Experience with advanced quantitative survey methods required (eg conjoint, statistical analysis, etc) * "Self-starter"; strong sense of responsibility with demonstrable comfort in an entrepreneurial environment * Able to work effectively in a fluid, cross-functional matrixed environment and stand out as a successful collaborator * Strong interpersonal skills and a consultative mindset, with the ability to develop strong partnerships * Good problem-solving ability, breaking down complex problems into distinct parts, managing uncertainty, understanding, anticipating interdependencies * Able to proactively "connect the dots" by asking thought-provoking questions * Objective when presenting insights and guiding decision-making; demonstrate good presentation skills by pairing sound analytics with storytelling * Motivated to continuously improve performance; outcomes-focused and driven to achieve objectives * Able to lean in and manage through change * Commitment to reflect FMI's values: passion, patients, innovation, and collaboration.
