The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) is responsible for six agencies and departments: Career Services, Industrial Accidents, Labor Standards, Labor Relations, Unemployment Assistance, and Family and Medical Leave. The primary objectives of the Secretariat are to develop, coordinate, protect, and enhance the economic welfare of the Massachusetts workforce, and to formulate Labor and Workforce Development strategies for the Commonwealth.
EOLWD is committed to diversifying the Registered Apprentice workforce by expanding apprenticeship to new occupations and industries. The Director of Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning is responsible for Program Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Partnership Development in the field of apprenticeship. In addition to recruiting, designing, and developing new apprenticeship programs, the incumbent will develop strategic partnerships with education, business, and industry partners across the Commonwealth to create new programs, provide input on relevant training and instruction provided, and seek sponsors for apprenticeships.
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience.
