As Head of Marketing for Alexa Voices Services (AVS), you will be responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy and the Go-To-Market (GTM) planning and execution -- including responsibility for developer branding programs, product and services positioning/messaging, marketing mix, partner events, and budget. With Alexa at the forefront of Voice User Interface (VUI), this role will have exciting and challenging multifaceted responsibilities. Targeting the developer community, this role will focus on growing the ecosystem to support a high level of interest from innovators and partners. Focusing on the consumer market, this role will support partner brands to enable new use cases and drive brand equity for Amazon and partners. You will hire and manage a team of world-class marketing professionals who will engender passion for our products among consumers. Leveraging the strength of the Amazon brand, you will work with the product management organization to provide marketing inputs into the product roadmaps and other marketing teams within Amazon devices (research and insights, mass media, branding) to help launch products.
The ideal candidate will have worked with a big brand and successfully transformed innovative consumer electronic product concepts into category leaders. He or she will know how to apply the methods of product marketing to ensure clarity of strategy, positioning and execution priorities for a strong launch in online and offline retail environments; and will be comfortable thinking big and diving deep. They will have launched several new products successfully and be a proven cross-functional and business leader with P&L experience. As a marketing generalist and facilitator, this person should be as comfortable with the marketing science as they are with the art of marketing, and be sharp enough to know how to use one to inform the other. Key responsibilities are:
Hire and develop a world-class marketing team
Use data and insight to help inform product roadmap planning with the Product Management organization. Prioritize target audience/ segment priorities, along with key features and use cases that will create differentiation and drive engagement.
Understand and assess core product opportunities (e.g., opportunity size, appeal, differentiation) in order to proactively determine how to best generate and drive demand globally.
Development and execution of integrated "Go to Market" plans across online and offline retail channels, using all marketing levers and cooperation with Amazon global retail teams and other Amazon service organizations.
Work with research team to develop consumer insights that inform marketing plans, as well as test the effectiveness of marketing activities.
Launch management and cross-functional alignment and integration.
Establish successful joint-marketing campaigns.
Develop rigorous testing programs to maximize marketing effectiveness.
Drive cooperative marketing programs with partners.
