The Director of Advanced Solutions will provide transformational leadership and guidance to a solutions architecture and engineering team in support of sales and business development efforts nationwide. In this role, the Director will be responsible for leading a historically technical pre-sales team to a business-oriented solutions organization without losing the core technical capabilities also required.


The chosen candidate for this role will be expected to accomplish the following within 1-2 years of having held the role:

  • Increase win rate by 25% and decreased sales cycle by 25% with 60% of bookings coming from managed services for customers on complex hybrid cloud.
  • Serve as the lead technical evangelist for the sales team on big deal pursuit; will be highly regarded and sought after by the sales team as the lead technical evangelist capable of furthering the companys vision and technical credibility.
  • Be a strong leader in building a team of solutions architects capable of guiding prospects and customers by architecting the right application infrastructure solutions to meet their needs.
  • Pattern-matched evolving customer needs resulting in meaningful revenue growth coming from 3 new product releases.
  • Lead the sales and execution efforts on 5 cloud readiness assessment professional services engagements, 60% of which are converted to recurring managed services.
  • Assist in the design of customer application solutions.
  • Ensure complete discovery and definition of customer application requirements.
  • Interface with local operations personnel to ensure appropriate design of customer solutions and guarantee the quality of sales orders.
  • At least 5 to 7 years in a consulting or sales engineering environment; highly versed in private/public mission critical application infrastructure design.
  • AWS or Azure technical certifications.
  • Experience selling or consulting in mid to large enterprise selling.
  • Experience in previously leading a sales or consulting organization; has owned a number and can demonstrate results in achieving the number.
  • Can demonstrate examples of having identified and recommended or acted upon new product development opportunities that led to new high growth revenue streams.
  • Superb presentation skills with any audience; excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to participate in and influence the outcomes with C-level team.
  • Bachelors degree with technical coursework a plus.

Other essential job duties and responsibilities:

Drive transformation by embracing and promoting our solution selling approach, including hands-on coaching, training by example, and constant communication.

Work effectively with inter-department and cross-company teams and management and become the escalation point of contact.

Become a subject matter expert on the companys value proposition.

Plan, organize and direct the activities of the Solutions Architecture team.

Demonstrate ability to connect technical solutions to business value.
