The opportunity:

This role will provide advanced analytics support within the Business Analytics function that applies the power of data with machine learning to improve business outcomes across the Health and Risk Solutions organization. The Director of Advanced Analytics Transformation will provide leadership to transform the overall analytics maturity of the Health and Risk Solutions organization. This team is expected to work closely with the other teams across the organization, including functional leads and the analytic agile squads supporting AI use cases within various business domains.

This position reports to the AVP, Business Analytics within the Health and Risk Solutions business. Primary responsibilities include the identification and scoping of high-impact AI use cases and collaborating with cross-functional teams to unlock the full potential of advanced analytics within our organization. Additional responsibilities will include helping to mentor and upskill our data scientists and business analysts, ensuring adherence to best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning. This position will be instrumental in ensuring that our AI strategy contains a robust pipeline of AI use cases, with the appropriate processes and people in place to execute on this roadmap. This role will manage a team of data scientists and business analysts to support AI solution development, change management, process optimization, and data analysis for AI initiatives, ensuring best practices are followed through the entire end to end AI solution development cycle.

How you will contribute:

  • Envision and maintain a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with the organization's strategic objectives and industry trends by working with business leaders across Health and Risk Solutions.

  • Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases across various business domains, conducting feasibility assessments and cost benefit analyses.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful development and implementation of AI solutions.

  • Lead a team of data scientists and business analysts to support solution development, change management, process optimization, and data analysis for AI initiatives.

  • Support development and career progression of data scientists, data analysts, and business analysts across the Health and Risk Solutions organization.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning, encouraging the exploration and adoption of emerging AI technologies and techniques.

  • Advocate for analytics-enabled business practices within Health and Risk Solutions, including adoption of deployed AI solutions.

  • Develop and deliver training programs to build AI literacy and awareness across the organization.

What you will bring with you:

  • Direct experience implementing advanced analytics use cases within an insurance or healthcare organization required, including end to end process oversight from scoping to implementation and ongoing change management.

  • Demonstrated expertise in data science including best practices related to the entire model life cycle management process.

  • Strong knowledge of the fundamental statistical and AI underpinnings of data science, including a solid understanding of technical feasibility as it relates to identified use cases.

  • Strong business acumen to understand why and how the work we do will impact our business stakeholders.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • BS in a statistical, mathematical, or technical field (e.g., data science)

  • 10+ years of experience in a data science role, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

What will be nice to have?

  • MS/PhD, preferably in a statistical, mathematical, or technical field (e.g., data science)

  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex AI initiatives on time.

  • Proficiency in change management methodologies and experience in driving organizational transformation through the adoption of AI technologies.

  • Southern California region: $163,600 - 245,400 annually

  • Central California region: $172,500 - 258,800 annually

  • Northern California region: $184,400 - 276,600 annually

If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $156,200 - 234,300 annually

If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $163,600 - 245,400 annually

If you are Washington or Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $172,500 - 258,800 annually

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $min - $max annually
