This position is responsible for providing direct management to 8-10 Account Managers. This role is intended to lead those responsible for existing large group individually rated business with an emphasis on group retention Position is responsible for understanding Company's mission, goals, and strategies and supporting them in day-to-day operations and decision-making.


  • Training and managing of direct reports with responsibility for renewing approximately 500-700 group dental contracts

  • Direct responsibility to provide leadership in selling renewals, problem solving, decision making, presentations, client visits with account managers

  • Day-to-day supervision of account management staff including training, performance reviews, mentoring and direction

  • Assign groups to account managers

  • Ongoing streamlining of workflows

  • Colloborate with Compliance Department; write and maintain Policy and Procedures (P&P)

  • Identify and coordinate training opportunities for staff

  • Participates and represents the department on special corporate projects committees as requested

  • Stay abreast of competitive environment and local community business/corporate news

  • Other duties as required.

  • Weight Lifting Requirements : 50 lbs


  • Reports To : Vice President, Account Management and Client Services

  • Directly Manages : Account Managers and Senior Account Managers

  • Internal Relationships : All departments within the Company

  • Clients, brokers, and consultants

  • Vendor partners and health plan partners as required

The Director is responsible for facilitating growth initiatives in Global Treasury Management through significant business development, excellent client relationship management and exemplary service, The Director is responsible for the development of plans for revenue growth within a team of Sales professionals in a designated sector and developing junior staff. The Director is recognized as an advocate for client initiatives and effectively partners with other areas of the bank in achieving this mission successfully. SALES/STRATEGY * Actively manages business development opportunities and oversees on-going monitoring of client portfolio * Develops comprehensive knowledge of factors influencing client buying decisions and incorporates this knowledge into sales strategies * Provides expertise in cash management solutions/market-related activities to ensure brand identification and generate long-term business development opportunities * Develops and implements appropriate sales strategies to meet changing market conditions and changing client expectations * Acts as lead for Sales team in preparation and delivery of proposals and pitches * Delivers highly reliable activities in instituting cross-selling initiatives to clients across all areas of the firm and transitioning them into sales * Maintains awareness of all BMO corporate/commercial products and services offered and tac1ritates means of receiving continuous updates * Maintains key ongoing contacts within the industry and with I&CB sector Relationship Managers * Ensures cross-border deal flow is streamlined and effective CLIENT AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT * Ensures that pitch books approach and strategy are articulated effective and professional * Ensures delivery of exemplary client service by troubleshooting as client advocate a professional ethical and conscientious manner * Ensures streamlined business agreement documentation to ensure successful sales * With the other Senior Leadership Team members participates in ongoing monitoring of product service and sales performance to maximize return * Coordinates pricing approval as client advocate * Actively works with the other specialists as needed to support successful sales TEAM MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT * Provides leadership to the team in order to ensure successful transactions are undertaken m an efficient manner * Provide leadership & direction to the Sales Team through context setting, strong performance management, and the development of individuals through coaching & training. * Assigns tasks and assignments with departmental goals and objectives through leadership planning and direction to the teams * Effectively influences and gains support of other areas of the firm in delivering solutions to clients * Builds a high performance high productivity work environment by maintaining effective managerial practices * Manages resources effectively * Effectively communicates and partners with others * Sets appointee policy/project initiatives for the teams and ensures that such initiatives are met * Increases the effectiveness and successful performance of the teams through Identifying and closing skill/knowledge gap along with additional coaching and feedback as required AUTHORITIES To deliver on these accountabilities, the incumbent must have the following authorities: Information: * Access and authority to use confidential information related to employees, clients' products and financial documentation * Approval of policies, guidelines and procedures applicable to Sales in conjunction with Managing Director of Sales CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS * All groups Within GTM. Including Product Management, Implementation Client Services, Helpdesk, Business Services, and Senior Management * I&CB Clients, International Financial institution Clients, and P&C Canada Clients (limited) Internal Groups, Legal department. Compliance, IFI Relationship Managers Privacy Office SCOPE AND IMPACT The work product directly impacts the growth initiatives within the Business Unit. Client portfolios and any transaction for which the Vice President is involved.
