You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with systems engineering

  • Experience with requirements management, including requirements traceability, producing metrics, and configuration management

  • Experience with planning integration and test events and reporting verification results

  • Experience with DoD acquisition or transition

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes for major milestones and Integration and Test (I&T) events

  • Secret clearance

  • BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with using DOORS or MagicDraw

  • Experience with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Microsoft Project, and other scheduling tools

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a highly diverse and geographically disparate team

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

(BCI) is seeking mid-level (10-15 years experience) candidates to provide support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Warfare Systems Program Office and other customers within V Department. BCI's areas of expertise include Human Systems Integration/Human Factors Engineering, Interoperability, Training, Operational Systems Safety, and Weapon & Combat Systems Engineering. BCI's work force of employees and consultants includes human factors engineers, operational engineers and former naval officers and enlisted subject matter experts. Job Location: Dahlgren, VA Job Start Date: 2nd or 3rd quarter FY19 Shift: Days Experience Required: Successful candidate(s) will possess a minimum of 10-15 years of general combat system engineering experience gained through equipment operation and maintenance while on active duty serving on carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, large deck or smaller amphibious ships, or land based test sites, etc., or 10-15 years civilian combat systems development, test and evaluation and certification experience. This experience should have been gained in such programs as Aegis Combat and Weapon Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), NIFC-CA, DDG-1000, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) or US Coast Guard. Minimum five (5) years experience related to the description of duties is required. A formal degree supporting systems engineering, software engineering or significant analysis experience is a plus. Two (2) years experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Description of Duties: Duties for these positions may include: (1) Providing review and recommendations on combat systems integration technical issues; (2) Conducting risk management and assessments; (3) Conducting predictive Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analyses; (4) Assisting with the organization and management of testing, planning and conducting test events; (5) Reviewing requirements traceability and analysis; (6) Assisting with program certification activities; or (7) Providing technical assessments, evaluations, and analysis on system problems. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to perform efficiently and effectively on multiple projects under tight deadlines. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the BCI team and customers. Minimal travel may be required.
