As a Caregiver (Direct Support Professional, DSP) with REM North Dakota, you'll be one of those extraordinary people. This position supports individuals we serve in both residential and day settings. We seek a compassionate person to successfully provide assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning, medication administration, and personal care. In this role you will also facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community or providing transportation to work or other activities. Our Caregivers also partner with our clinical staff to support the therapeutic and behavioral plans in place.

  • Valid driver's license in good standing

  • Successful clearance of background checks

Initial Training Requirement--Paid Training:

Approximately 32 hours of mandatory paid training sessions offered to new employees prior to providing care to individuals.

These are part time (20 hour a week) temporary positions as Direct Care Staff, who are in recovery with lived experience with a mental illness and/or substance use disorder for Lake Region Human Service Center. These positions would be instrumental in assisting peers in articulating their goals for recovery, learning and practicing new skills, helping them monitor their progress, supporting them in their treatment, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies and supporting them in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services. This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a vehicle to transport clients and go on home visits. Minimum Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations. If unable to fill as a Direct Care Associate III we will consider filling as a Direct Care Associate II: Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of work experience providing direct care to special populations. If unable to fill as a Direct Care Associate II we will consider filling as a Direct Care Associate I: Requires a high school diploma The position may require travel within the six counties of Lake Region Human Service Center.
