Description of Responsibilities:
Working in the Community Learning Center programs, DSPs provide direct daily supports and services to people with disabilities.
The DSP leads group and individual activities that promote skill development, health and wellness, and employment.
The DSP supports people to access services within the local communities, such as shopping and volunteering.
The DSP supports the person in all activities of daily living as needed, such as bathing, toileting, dressing and grooming.
DSPs drive vehicles that transport people to and from their CLC location, as well as for activities.
DSPs support people personal care needs and completes required documentation.
HS Diploma or GED; prefer an individual w/ CNA training.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Must be able to meet the HealthCare Worker Background Check requirements and have valid IL Drivers License.
Must be able to lift and transfer individuals (75 lbs.).
Positive and up-beat personality is a must.
All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State
Must be at least 21 years of age.
All employees must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
