Location: Annandale, MN

Wage: $11.55 per hour

Schedule: Every Thursday 4p-9p

MERIDIAN SERVICES provides person centered services to people with intellectual disabilities in a variety of settings, including Residential (group home services), In Home Services/ semi-independent living assistance, vocational services, case management and other supportive programs.

Job Summary:

We are looking for people to join our team working with individuals in their own homes or family homes. We are offering full time or part time positions throughout the Twin Cities.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will be helping work on a variety of goals with children, teenagers, young adults or adults who live in their own homes or with their families. DSP's provide assistance with activities to increase independence. These may include as meal preparation, community outings, personal hygiene, shopping, cleaning, and paperwork organization, community safety and/or learning community transportation.

Each person has different needs as well as different hours and days they would like services. We currently provide In Home Services to over 200 individuals in Minnesota.

Requirements:

  • To be at least 18 years of age for employment within the In Home Program

  • Have a vehicle with current car insurance and have an acceptable driving record as determined by Meridian Services policy.

  • Successful clearance from a DHS background Study

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities. Experience working with challenging behaviors (verbal and/or physical) is preferred. Mental health experience and experience with Autism is required for some positions.

We are looking for an experienced Sanitation Lead for our Annandale Plant. Monday through Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. E.A. Sween is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Minority/Female/Veteran/Disability The Sanitation Lead is responsible for completing, directing and training of the proper and timely cleaning and sanitizing of the production facility and equipment as well as making adjustments to the rotation schedule as needed. The facility consists of a ready to eat (RTE) production area, cooler, freezer, inbound and outbound docks and other general support areas within the production facility. The Sanitation Lead ensures a safe, clean and sanitized production facility and equipment at all times. This position, along with all positions within the company, plays an active role in the company's Lean initiatives. Essential Functions: Leadership * Provides leadership by: * Directing and training fellow sanitation employees in a professional and respectful manner. * Participates in the hiring process, and provides input for performance reviews in a fair and consistent manner. Food Safety & Quality * Performs all duties and positions in the sanitarian rotation schedule. * Leads and trains 5 shift sanitarians in the proper cleaning and sanitizing of the production facility and production equipment. * Meets all E.A. Sween Company and regulatory standards, good manufacturing policies and sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) while monitoring others. * Assists Sanitation Manager with assigned food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities to support SQF requirements, regulatory requirements and customers' requirements. * Responsible for food safety and quality. * Directs the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, utensils and machinery. * Ensures sanitarians have completed the sanitation processes accurately and in a timely manner prior to shift end and production start-up. * Make suggestions for updates to SSOPs and cleaning procedure book as necessary. Health and Safety * Complete mandatory E. A. Sween Company training sessions, and attend external training sessions as needed. * Report hazardous conditions to the Sanitation Manager and/or the Director of Food Safety & Quality or Operations Management * Cooperate with all aspects of the safety program at E. A. Sween Company * Perform all activities in accordance with company safety policies * Ensure sanitation employees receive annual Hazardous Chemical training from the sanitation chemical provider * Follows, monitors and promotes all employer safety and health rules, regulations and best practices. Reports all hazardous conditions to the Sanitation Manager. * Helps maintain the security of the facility. Cost (Continuous Improvement) * Assure that all sanitation procedures are efficient and cost-effective. Revise methods and SSOPs as needed. * Participates and plays an active role in the company's Lean initiatives. Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED. * Ability to communicate using basic English with a diverse group of employees. * 2+years of previous sanitation experience. * Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs.) * Working knowledge of sanitation practices, chemicals and equipment. * Must be able to work with, direct and train fellow sanitation employees in a professional manner. * Must understand and demonstrate safety skills. * All hires will need to successfully pass a drug screen and background check Preferred Qualifications: * Previous leadership or supervisory experience a plus. * Prefer AIB Food Sanitation and Hygiene Certificate and MSDS training. * 2+years of previous food related sanitation experience. * Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Physical Environment: * Must be able to lift, pull and manipulate up to 50 pounds, reach overhead, bend, twist, turn, climb and crawl frequently. * Must be able to work with all chemicals, water temperatures in excess of 160 degrees and high pressure pumps. * Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day, scrub for up to 6 hours and work occasional weekends. * Must be able to work with and clean areas that come in contact with all breads, meats and cheese products.
