Woodfords is seeking dynamic individuals who want to positively impact the lives of adults with special needs. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work with adult consumers, their families and other service providers to promote independence and community inclusion.

  • We have open Direct Support Professional positions throughout Southern Maine

Schedule:

  • 4-day work week

  • Sunday

  • Wednesday or Wednesday

  • Saturday

  • Combination of day and evening hours

  • Full-time (30 to 40) hours & Part-time (20 to 29) hours

The Role of a Direct Support Professional (DSP):

As a Woodfords' Direct Support Professional (DSP),

  • Work directly with adults with developmental disabilities on daily living skills including: budgeting, meal prep, housekeeping, grocery shopping, decision making, transportation and personal support

  • Support individuals to be active in the community and accompany individuals on outings and activities

  • Provide written documentation of daily progress toward consumers' goals

  • Be a key member of the Residential program working independently with an adult consumer and cooperatively within a treatment team

  • Flexible full or part-time schedules allow work/life balance

We invest in our Direct Support Professionals and provide our team members with paid training & opportunities for advancement! We teach our Direct Support Professionals the skills and strategies needed to be successful.

Key Qualifications of the Direct Support Professional (DSP):

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Valid driver's license

  • Use of reliable vehicle with current insurance

  • Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification, or successful completion of the full DSP course within 6 months of hire (training and certification paid by Woodfords)

  • Good physical strength; able to bend, lift and stand.
