If you have a caring heart and a dedication to helping others, PathPoint may be the place for you. We are currently accepting applications for full-time Direct Support Professionals to join our Community Independent Living Services team in Woodland Hills, CA.
In this role, you'll teach independent living skills to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group setting. This could include cooking and grocery shopping, healthy living and exercise, budgeting and money management, scheduling and attending medical appointments, or other skills depending on the individual's personal goals. You may also have the opportunity to share your personal hobbies with the individuals you are supporting. This is a full-time position, Monday-Thursday 4-11PM and Saturday, 9AM-4PM.

What You'll Do:
Teach a variety of household skills, including cooking, laundry, paying bills, budgeting, emergency preparedness, shopping, and hygiene.
Assist individuals with establishing goals, expressing preferences, and resolving problems.
Learn and apply Person-Centered Thinking approach
Assist individuals in scheduling medical appointments, maintaining medical records and escorting to appointments as needed.
Prepare meals and snacks with individuals.
Actively participate in meetings and discussions regarding individual's progress.
Maintain daily logs and data reports.
Who We're Looking For:
Prior experience supporting or instructing individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required; if you are interested in this job but do not have directly relevant experience, we'd still love to hear from you!
Strong interpersonal skills
Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, 5 years of driving experience, and be eligible for coverage on PathPoint's auto insurance policy
Culturally sensitive and aware of differences in employees based on cultural backgrounds; aware of one's own culture and how someone's background may lead to biases; has the skills and resources needed to work with employees from all different cultures and the ability to avoid making biased assumptions based on someone's culture
Compensation: This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $18.50 per hour. The pay range is $16.00-$21.53 an hour.
Bilingual: If you are bilingual (Spanish or ASL), the starting wage is $18.80 per hour and the pay range is $16.00-$22.61.*
