Direct Indexing Testing Analyst

Vanguard Personalized Indexing Management (VPIM) is looking for a Testing Analyst to join the Product Management Team. Candidate should have a strong interest in investments and a background in testing for software products. This position involves working in a fluid environment where rapid response and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously are often required.

This role will be based out of the VPIM office in Oakland, CA and requires coming in 3 days a week

Core Responsibilities:

• Analyzes business and user needs and documents data or systems requirements for testing purposes. Tests moderately sophisticated information systems, and advises on the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

• Translates client requirements to functional documentation. Formulates and defines the systems scope and objectives, based on user needs and business processes. Executes sophisticated testing based on deep understanding of business goals and systems requirements.

• Advises business process improvement projects for internal business groups, aiming to improve business results. Leads the design and testing of new or enhanced applications.

• Leads the quality assurance testing of systems and software. Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications, and consequences of various proposed system changes. Provides recommendations for addressing and resolving business issues.

• Raises, tracks and re-tests defects and enhancements. Ensures a wide scope of quality assurance testing measures are utilized on new or existing applications. Uses automated test tools and automates testing where reasonable.

• Analyzes input and output of test data. Identifies discrepancies between requirements and expected results. Coaches crew on testing strategy and quality assurance methods.

• Thoroughly understands software development methodology. Thoroughly understands development architecture standards.

• Perform systems analysis activities. Perform manual code analysis to detect bugs, performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities and maintainability risks.

• Works closely with the developers and product managers daily to complete all job responsibilities.

• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3 years work experience in Testing/QA roles in financial services

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent

• Experience working in an Agile team preferred.

• Background or interest in investing and passive portfolio management

• Proficiency in Excel, Python, testing tools is preferred

• Thorough, well-organized and appreciates the importance of meeting deadlines.

• Ambitious spirit: driven, passionate about VPIM's mission, and have deep emotional intelligence for clients.

• A positive, collegial attitude and a high level of professionalism are essential.
