Our programs are designed to protect children from abuse and neglect; to help people overcome substance abuse, to manage mental health, or to gain control of debilitating behaviors; to care for and connect seniors to needed services; to provide emergency financial and food assistance to support Holocaust survivors; and to welcome and help resettle refugees from around the world.

WHAT WE OFFER:

$16 per hour plus premium pay of $.50 for hours worked in the evening, and $1.00 for hours worked overnight and on weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Direct Care Coordinator will be be responsible for the well-being of assigned children at the Unaccompanied Children Program at Gulf Coast JFCS by maintaining an ongoing awareness of children whereabouts. The Direct Care Coordinator will be supportive and a positive role model for the development of socialization and other skills for all children and observe and assist children at meals and snack times, especially noting those with diet restrictions or considerations.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

A high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years experience working with children.
Experience in a residential or mental health treatment setting preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English
A valid Florida driver license or ability to acquire Florida driver license & proof of auto insurance

VIEW JOBS POSITION SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapy Assistant student implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student will follow all GRS policy and procedures outlined in the on-boarding and orientation process. 2. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant. 3. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor. 4. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor. 5. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant. 6. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor. 7. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor. 8. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student puts patient service first: ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor. 9. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor. 10. Under the supervision of the Clinical Instructor, the Occupational Therapy Assistant Student provides individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in such areas as, but not limited to: a. cognitive skills b. muscle strength c. coordination d. endurance e. mobility f. perceptual abilities g. sensory awareness h. sitting and standing tolerance i. balance j. activities of daily living k. joint protection l. work simplification m. orientation n. physical agent modalities 11. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant. 12. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student performs other related duties as required with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor. 13.
