Responsibilities

Responsible for providing guidance, planning, and direction of assigned unit (s). Responsible for making independent judgment/decisions concerning emergency situations in the absence of the physician or other medical authority. Responsible for maintaining good public relations in the areas assigned.

Performs duties in any nursing capacity as qualified and needed, to include but not limited to staff nurse, Relief House Supervisor and Relief CNE when required by Chief Nurse Executive.

Responsible for interpreting and presenting policies, procedures, and standards for approval and implementation in the assigned Units and to be able to articulate and provide written justification for all administrative and clinical aspects of assigned unit(s). Responsible for all financial aspects of assigned unit(s) and for maintaining all financials of assigned unit(s) within designated annual budget. Responsible for maintaining qualified clinical staff for assigned unit and for supporting all administrative and clinical decisions made by the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Nurse Executive.

Responsible for maintaining assigned unit(s) within guidelines of JCAHO, Texas Department of Health, Fire Department and any other official regulatory requirements. Responsible for meeting all designated deadline for assigned projects and keeps Chief Nurse Executive informed of any unit issue which is pending completion. Responsible for maintaining the Trauma Program requirements and for maintaining the Level Four status. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have registered Nurse license in the State of Texas. BLS certification.

Education: Graduate of the state approved school of professional nursing practice.

Maintains current licensure in the State of Texas. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree required.

Special Skills, Knowledge: ACLS/PALS required within six months of hire.

Five (5) years experience in specific area of hire. Previous general and supervisory experience required.
