Job Summary

Responsible for the overall operational deployment and implementation of all major programs and initiatives launching through the Company stores to best benefit and impact our customers and our business. Establishes the strategic vision and leadership that aligns planning, execution activities with strategic and financial objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall operational deployment and implementation of all major programs and initiatives launching through the Company stores.

  • Directs the development of project plans, time line, and contingencies. Acts as a contact with the business owners of major initiatives. Provides advanced leadership and advice to address issues, problems and to identify risks and brings in the team for implementation. Collaborates with other Pharmacy & Retail Operations leaders, Merchandising, Facilities, Design, Field leadership, and other Company leaders to ensure a seamless implementation.

  • Drives process improvement, efficiency, and controls costs by optimizing the utilization of resources.

  • Forges collaborative partnerships throughout the enterprise. Drives strong external partnerships and collaboration that accelerates innovative organizational, process and value engineering solutions. Establishes and monitors program requirements, priorities, and deadlines. Balances short term daily objectives with long term goals.

  • Transfers knowledge to implementation and deployment team members in order to promote collaboration on projects and empowerment to achieve the objectives. Communicates strategy and project priorities to the teams. Works collaboratively with other Pharmacy & Retail Operations to ensure strategies will work effectively in the locations.

  • Responsible for the design, build, and deployment of programs and policies to enhance and build team member engagement and morale. Works closely with leadership teams throughout the Company to design and deploy programs that enhance the team member experience and confirm Walgreens as an employer of choice.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of leadership experience in retail store and/or pharmacy management at store or corporate locations OR a High School diploma/GED and at least 15 years of leadership experience in retail store and/or pharmacy management at store or corporate locations.

  • At least 5 years of experience leading deployment and implementation of initiatives which align with business and financial goals.

  • At least 5 years of experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines

  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve issues.

  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve issues.

  • At least 5 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.

  • At least 5 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work

  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or MBA.

  • At least 5 years of experience in retail pharmacy operations with one of the Walgreens family of companies with responsibility for the profit and loss of more than one store.
