Dir & Sr Corporate Counsel

Basic Job Function
This position serves as a regulatory compliance attorney, advising the Company on regulatory compliance, helping to oversee the Compliance Management System and drafting related policies and procedures.
1.Identify highly complex regulatory compliance issues affecting the company and/or highly sensitive issues of major scope and impact. Prescribe, develop, and implement courses of action necessary to address major issues and questions.
2.Work with the business to review new products and services to ensure that they comply with applicable laws and regulations.
3.Monitor regulatory developments affecting the Company and provide legal advice on how such developments may affect the Company or its products and services.
4.Advise on complex matters requiring highly developed legal and counseling skills in several specialized areas of expertise and a wide breadth of legal and business knowledge.
5.Advise on and monitor implementation of appropriate processes and policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and to avoid disputes.
6.Advise in dispute resolution and management of all legal issues that arise in the organization.
7.Resolve important strategic legal issues independently.
8.Manage assigned projects to completion, including management of the services of outside legal counsel
9.Supervise the activities of, train, and manage junior attorneys, compliance managers and support personnel.
Assist with regulatory enquiries and investigations.

1.JD Degree required
2.Licensed to practice law by a state in the United States
3.10 + years of corporate compliance experience required; significant experience with financial services regulation preferred; combined in-house and law firm experience a plus.
4.Willingness to work on a broad variety of legal issues and exercise sound judgment in the face of ambiguity.
5.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a valued memberof corporate management, supporting operating group leaders and their staffs, to build relationships and foster the confidence of clients.
6.Proven ability to identify and analyze potential legal issues and develop business-focused legal advice and solutions.
7.Display excellent judgment, analysis and problem solving skills; know when to involve others who may possess needed expertise to address issues.
8.Hard working, motivated self-starter with demonstrated ability to be results-oriented to the business.
9.Work independently but also as part of a multi-discipline team.
Strong integrity and business ethics.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
Superior oral/written communication skills and presentation skills.
