Director of Safety Net Clinics

The Director leads the operation of the Inova Juniper Program (7 locations). Leads and coordinates strategic development of "wrap around" services to support all the different teams within IJP. Responsible for maintaining and obtaining federal/state/private funding.

Profit and loss responsibility for the clinic/program operation including budgeting, productivity management for clinical staff including NP/PA's and physicians, non-salary expense control, and identification of capital needs for the operation. Responsible for maintaining level 3 PCMH designation and quality measures. Manages clinical and non clinical staff, education/prevention team including day to day supervision, employee engagement and staff development.

Maintains relationships with community partners and agencies to promote access to health care services for the safety net population. Maintains effective and responsive relationships across Inova Health System departments engaged in Safety Net Services.

InovaCares Clinic for Women

The InovaCares Clinic for Women, formerly the Inova OB/GYN Clinic on the Inova Fairfax Hospital Campus, provides comprehensive outpatient prenatal, obstetrical, gynecological and surgical care. The clinic has more than 50,000 visits and more than 3,500 deliveries at Inova Fairfax Hospital annually. The new space includes 18 exam rooms and three procedure rooms that have the latest ultrasound and imaging technology for accurate diagnoses.

InovaCares Clinic for Children

The InovaCares Clinic for Children, formerly the Inova Pediatric Center located at Woodburn Road, provides comprehensive pediatric services, including well-child care, immunizations, sick visits and school/sports physicals. The clinic, which has been serving Fairfax County and surrounding areas since 1993, sees young people from newborns up to age 18.

In 2008, the clinic had more than 21,000 visits. The new space includes 17 exam rooms and a special immunization room. In 2008, the staff administered more than 21,700 immunizations to children.

This summer, Inova plans to open a satellite location of InovaCares Clinic for Children in Reston. The clinic will be located in a newly renovated, 5,000 square-foot area at the Inova Emergency Care Center.

Inova Care Connection for Children

Inova Care Connection for Children (CCC) is a statewide program managed by Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children that provides case management and care coordination for children with chronic healthcare needs. Sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health, CCC is part of a statewide network that helps families coordinate community and educational resources with medical expertise to ensure that children with special healthcare needs can reach their maximum potential.

NOVA ScriptsCentral

NOVA ScriptsCentral (NSC) is a non-profit collaborative pharmacy whose mission is to provide quality pharmaceutical care and access to life-saving medications for uninsured families and their children. It embraces the use of e-prescribing to enhance prescription safety and provides medication therapies for 35 chronic diseases, including diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, depression, high blood pressure, heart failure and Parkinson's disease.

Multicultural Human Services Program

Multicultural Human Services (MHS) is a program of the Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) that provides a range of mental health, social and educational services in more than 15 languages to immigrants and refugees. Services include domestic-violence prevention, alcohol- and drug-abuse prevention, gang prevention, education and intervention, and mentoring programs. Staffed by multi-ethnic, multilingual social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors and education specialists, MHS helps people understand and navigate American culture and organizations so they can become self-sufficient.

Requirements

Experience as clinic/Medical Home practice administrator including managing day to day operations, understanding the needs of a culturally diverse, low income, uninsured population and directing and leading staff. Experience in collaborating with public/private entities to improve access to and quality of healthcare services.

Clinical training in an applicable specialty or advanced business degree sufficient to manage clinicians of the practices, clinical management staff, physicians and the complex Medical Home practice environment.

Provides group, individual and family evidence-based therapy that addresses specific patient/family goals and facilitates the active patient participation in the therapeutic process. Develops and implements programs, monitors outcomes and implements strategies for improvement based on data analysis/program evaluations. Works to develop or refine new clinical approaches. Provides accurate written documentation which adheres to department policy regarding timeframe, form and content of written evaluations, progress notes for patients and clients. Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts to facilitate efficient and effective patient care. Responsible for strategic and long-range planning of pediatric psychosocial care. Completes all administrative responsibilities in support of Life with Cancer's program goals and regulatory requirements. Serves as a clinical supervisor for pediatric clinical team members to ensure that clinical staff meet qualification and practice standards, competency, productivity and continuing education requirements, engages in coaching practices that ensures retention and employee satisfaction. Serves as key member of psychooncology team, guides, directs and participates in case conferences and consultation as well as participates on Life with Cancer Management Team and other system committees as appropriate. Oversees and performs other clinic duties such as clinical research projects, speaking engagements, trainings and publishing, furthering the field of pediatric cancer, as assigned. Provides oversight and management of all pediatric psychosocial professional standards. Ensures written reports are prepared reflecting accomplishments of pediatric team annually and as needed. Engages in sound fiscal practices of day-to-day operations including developing relationships with the Inova Foundation and other entities to provide additional financial support. Requirements 5 years post-doctoral experience providing psycho-educational and behavioral health assessment, using valid/reliable instruments and utilizing evidence–based interventions in pediatric oncology, Hospice, palliative care, trauma. History of speaking and publishing on psychoeducational topics related to pediatric cancer or children with a parent with cancer. Proven ability to create programming and conduct research. Experience in supervisory positions. Graduate of American Psychological Association approved PHD or Pysch D. program in clinical psychology.
