Clinical Research Service (CRS) is responsible for providing comprehensive support of SCMG research at Scripps Health that meet the needs of our patients, physicians, partners and overall organization.

As Director, Research Integration & Management, you will oversee and manage the Nursing and Allied Health Research Management process. Be responsible for designing, planning, implementation and monitoring operational initiatives and programs consistent with research and quality objectives. In this role you will facilitate and support the integration of research findings and outcomes into care delivery.

Identify and support initiatives to generate study sponsorship (grant, philanthropy or sponsored). You will work collaboratively and communicates effectively with researchers, leadership, clinical experts and other stakeholders throughout the Scripps system contributing expert opinion and input on research and its integration into clinical care.

This is a Full Time, Salaried Director position located in La Jolla.


Required Education/Experience/Specialized

Skills:
  • Master's or higher degree in Nursing, Research, Healthcare Management or similar.

  • Eight (8) years experience, (three) 3 of which in a leadership role.

  • Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, decision making, financial management, strategic development and implementation.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills imperative.

  • Knowledge of nursing and allied health research methodologies and practice required.

Required Certification/Registration:

  • Certification consistent with professional designation associated with education.

We are seeking a motivated individual for a scientific position in the Predictive & Investigative Toxicology Group within Preclinical Development & Safety (PD&S). The successful candidate will have a solid background in genetics /pathway biology/systems models with deep scientific expertise in omics technologies and data analysis. Experience in using machine learning to leverage diverse datasets for predictive models and biomarker discovery is highly desirable. The individual will have strong critical thinking skills with an interest in problem solving. The candidate will work in a collaborative team environment within PD&S and Therapeutic Areas where she/he will provide support to discovery teams as well as engage in core activities within the Predictive and Investigative Toxicology group. This position can be based in Beerse, Belgium, Springhouse, PA or La Jolla, CA. Responsibilities include: * Develop and apply system biology and pathway analysis approaches for on/off-target safety assessment * Mine 'omics data sets to influence preclinical species selection and understand compound-target associations and their functions at systems level including cell lines, tissues- in both diseased and healthy states. * Apply computational tools and machine learning for integrative analysis of multi-omics data for toxicogenomic or biomarker discovery for understanding organ toxicities * Ensure the application of the resulting capabilities to impact pipeline projects Collaborate with R&D informatics to build omics data analysis pipeline and make computational solutions accessible to the end- user * Contribute to peer-reviewed papers and presentations at relevant conferences * Participate in external collaborations focused on systems toxicology with industry and/or academia * Stay abreast with the latest system analysis algorithms and apply it to in house projects when appropriate Closely interact with data sciences community at Janssen and scientists in other functional areas within NCS Qualifications Qualifications: * PhD in system biology, bioinformatics, pharmacology with experience in computational biology, and genetics . * At least 6 years of work experience in pharmaceutical company (MS Degree with 10 years or BS Degree with 12 years exp in pharmaceutical company considered). * Excellent communication, planning, and team interaction skills; ability to work independently * Established expertise in analysis of complex omics datasets and systems biology is required * Proficiency in one of the following languages is required: Python, JavaScript, MATLAB, R * Experience with relational database, high performance Linux cluster and cloud computing preferred * Previous experience in Pipeline pilot and Spotfire or visualizations such as plotly, R/shiny a plus. * Strong written and oral presentation skills with a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and invited presentations * Self-motivated with a high level of autonomy * Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset * Travel up to 20% both domestic and internationally is required Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
