Essential Functions
1.Partner with COO and SVP of Human Resources to define human resources goals and objectives that align with corporate strategies and business initiatives.
2.Develop HR systems and processes that align with the vision, mission, and values of the organization; advise managers and employees in effectively using best practices while maintaining compliance with federal and state laws.
3.Provide guidance and support to management in areas of coaching through organizational business issues; coaching to create and maintain a productive, high-performing work environment; advise on performance issues, legal issues, conflict resolution, or other significant actions that affect employees and the organization.
4.Drive corporate and departmental skill and career development activities; establish in-house development programs; tailor new programs to employee needs as required. Advise leaders on the most effective methods for developing their people.
5.Oversee the development and administration of:

  • Organizational structure and development

  • Recruitment and retention of top caliber employees

  • Performance management and organization feedback

  • Compensation structure and total rewards programs

  • Training and professional development

  • Employee relations and culture building
    6.Provide leadership and direction to the HR team in the performance of duties, establishing work priorities, and achieving objectives.
    7.Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
    8.Abide by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company.
    9.Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors.

Secondary Functions
1.Serves to represent OTC to the general community, promoting the best interests of OTC in the strategic Human Resources Community.
2.Coordinates and implements special projects, as needed.
3.Performs other related duties as assigned or as the situation requires.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required; SPHR certification preferred.

Experience

Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience required in Human Resources and/or equivalent experience in an operations role responsible for all aspects of human resources. Strong management communication (verbal & written) and negotiation skills a must.

1.Skilled communicator and capable of working with all levels of the organization
2.Proven ability to deliver on strategic initiatives
3.Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
4.Proven ability to handle sensitive information professionally and discreetly
5.Demonstrated success in interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and team building. Understanding of both federal and state employment laws
6.Ability to influence effectively with all levels of the organization. Advanced level facilitation skills, particularly with senior level leaders.
7.Hands-on management experience to develop and drive strategy and direct day-to-day activities and operations.
8.Ability to perform job duties in a safe manner.
