Job Description

Within the Global Analytics and Data Management organization, the Advanced Analytics team will apply new capabilities to accelerate analytics-driven support for critical business decisions and will also be responsible for framing long term analytic strategies that grow analytics impact. The team will address unmet analytic needs in the areas of Resource Allocation, Marketing Mix Optimization, Patient Data Analytics and other areas presenting novel business problems.

The Advanced Analytics Projects Lead will be responsible for coordinating and executing the overall analytics engagements. In this role, they will leverage their skill set to design and scope out comprehensive quantitative analysis work plans and work streams, engage internal stakeholders, leverage external resources and participate in presentations and/or workshops to deliver meaningful insights to address identified business challenges.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Lead matrixed project teams to execute a range of small to enterprise-level analytical projects leveraging advanced analytics to support Marketing, Digital Innovation, Market Access, Sales and other Commercial areas

  • Participate in setting project objectives/scope and conduct information gathering exercises as part of the project design phase to identify data requirements, resource needs and stakeholders to be involved

  • Create a detailed project plan including timing, budget and dependencies and utilize a hypothesis-driven problem-solving approach to review project plans and work streams with internal stakeholders prior to executing

  • Oversee all components of the project plan and activities between work streams - facilitate collaborative workshops and ideation sessions during the execution phase to engage stakeholders, ensure full alignment and generate insights; oversee the design, creation and delivery of analytics models delivering project output; participate in presentations, 1:1s and white paper creation to deliver and pull-through project results and recommendations

  • Enhance overall organizational adoption of analytics-driven decision making

  • Educate other Commercial functions on process and methodology for execution of analytics-driven initiatives

  • Work closely with other Analytics functions on identifying data, information and resources that can deliver new insights

  • Create a repository of project objectives, scope, plans, models and presentations that can be leveraged and enhanced for future analytic opportunities

  • Incorporate project performance measures ensuring accountability on high quality and timely results that deliver on objectives

  • Standardize project closeout procedures to track delivering upon the plan and enable process improvement

  • Gather stakeholder feedback to demonstrate an increase in analytic impact on business performance, efficiencies or other applicable metrics

  • Conduct milestone assessments to evaluate longer term impact of implemented recommendations

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated acumen applying advanced analytics to solve business issues

  • Strong project management skills including breaking complex initiatives into detailed component parts and sequencing actions appropriately

  • Capability to manage multiple priorities with a commitment to delivering on-time and quality results

  • Proficiency in deriving insights from multiple data and information sources

  • Ability to lead, coordinate and influence the efforts of cross-functional teams

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or quantitative field from an accredited college or university

  • Advanced degree in analytics related areas including finance, statistics, data science, economics

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or health care industry

  • 3+ years working in a professional consulting firm, an internal strategy/analytics group or similar environment with experience in strategy and/or analytics consulting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of business software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik or equivalent
