Responsible for financial oversight of California Commercial business as well as management of a team of financial analysts who support the West Region (CA, CO, NV). Works closely with all levels of the regional and corporate accounting, cost and budget, and reporting and analysis areas to insure the integrity of the financial results of the business unit.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Oversees financial reporting process including coordination with other regions and the corporate office. Reviews, analyzes, reports, and presents financial results.
Investigates sources of variance and recommends mitigation plans when needed.
Provides decision support for business unit President and senior management teams.
Oversees intra-year financial forecasting and long-term financial planning.
Provides visible sponsorship and guidance for major change initiatives.
Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Requires a BS/BA in accounting or finance; 8-10 years' experience in accounting, financial reporting, business analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic and tactical planning within a health insurance/managed care environment; prior management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Strong communication skills are required in addition to financial acumen. MBA, CPA, CMA, FSA, and/or CFA preferred.
